--Seminar on Operating Room Nursing and ERAS Advances Successfully Held at Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital
On April 18, Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital hosted the Seminar on New Advances in Operating Room Nursing Management and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) at the Heavy Ion Medical Center. Chaired by Chu Xiaoxia, Head Nurse of the Operating Room, the event convened over 200 nursing professionals to explore themes of “Optimized Management” and “Innovative Development.”

The seminar was chaired by Chu Xiaoxia, Head Nurse of the Operating Room. Focusing on the dual themes of "Optimized Management" and "Innovative Development", the event specially invited two distinguished experts: Tao Guiyan, Head Nurse of the Anesthesia and Surgical Nursing Unit at the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, and He Chengying, Head Nurse of the Critical Care Unit at the same hospital. They led in-depth discussions on operating room nursing quality control, multidisciplinary ERAS collaboration, and perioperative care management. Over 200 nursing staff and department head nurses from our hospital participated in the training. Su Anping, Assistant President of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital, attended the event and delivered an opening speech. He extended a warm welcome to the visiting experts and participating medical professionals, highlighting the achievements of our hospital’s operating room nursing team in process optimization, infection prevention and control, and ERAS pathway implementation. He emphasized the importance of integrating expertise across disciplines to advance Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) nursing practices, ultimately providing safer and more comfortable perioperative rehabilitation experiences for patients.

The training program consisted of two sessions: academic exchange and difficult case discussion. Experts shared insights on topics including operating room nursing quality control, multidisciplinary ERAS collaboration, and perioperative care management. Subsequently, operating room nurse Li Wenlin presented a case titled "Nursing Management of a Difficult Case: Ovarian Cancer Debulking Surgery Complicated by DIC," demonstrating how to continuously refine and optimize ERAS nursing protocols through clinical practice to enhance perioperative outcomes and patient satisfaction. She also consulted the experts on challenging aspects of the nursing process. The two experts provided on-site guidance, offering solutions to the difficulties and uncertainties encountered in our clinical work.
