Recently, the Hepatobiliary Center of Wuwei Academy of Medical Sciences held its administrative handover for the second quarter of the year. The event also featured two emergency response drills: one simulating needlestick injuries among medical staff and another for sudden cardiac arrest in patients. These drills were designed to sharpen clinical response capabilities through hands-on simulation. Following the exercises, the center conducted its quarterly work summary and star staff selection. Through a comprehensive process that included patient satisfaction surveys, performance evaluations, and peer voting, three outstanding individuals were named "Quarterly Stars." Their exceptional contributions and performance have set a benchmark for all medical staff, reflecting the center's proactive and excellence-driven culture.

Q2 2026 Quarterly Stars — Hepatobiliary Center, Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital

Dr. Zhang Fulin, Deputy Director, Department of Hepatology IV
A member of the Beijing Asia-Pacific Liver Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Technology Alliance, as well as the Hepatology and Infectious Diseases Professional Committees of the Wuwei Medical Association. With over a decade of clinical experience in hepatology, he pursued advanced training at Beijing Ditan Hospital (Capitcal Medical University) in 2018 and the First Hospital of Lanzhou University in 2022. He is highly proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of common and complex liver conditions, with particular expertise in the standardized diagnosis and individualized management of viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, fatty liver, autoimmune liver diseases, genetic and metabolic liver disorders, liver cirrhosis, and liver cancer. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to a precision medicine approach, leveraging his deep clinical expertise to bring hope of recovery to patients with liver disease.

Nursing Team Leader, Station 3 — Nurse-in-Charge
A seasoned nursing professional who has served on the clinical frontlines for many years. She remains true to her original aspiration of "mastering nursing skills with compassion and dedication," focusing on specialized hepatobiliary nursing care. Recognized as a Municipal Outstanding Nurse for her rigorous attention to detail and warm, patient-centered service, she now oversees ward nursing management as a team leader. By integrating precision specialty care with humanistic attention, she continuously refines her skills and upholds the nursing mission of protecting patients through long-term commitment and clinical excellence.

Station 1 — Nurse-in-Charge
Serving on the clinical frontlines since 2013, she specializes in hepatobiliary nursing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she stood firm on the frontlines, overcoming challenges to successfully complete all epidemic prevention and control tasks. In her daily practice, she combines precision nursing with compassionate care, safeguarding patients' health with a high level of professional competence. Proficient in blood purification techniques, she also balances clinical work with scientific research, authoring three provincial-level academic papers based on her specialized practice. She continually empowers her nursing practice through professional growth, demonstrating the responsibility and dedication of a modern nursing professional through tangible action and unwavering commitment.
