【National Chief Expert on Daily Duty】Professor Feng Qinfu Provides On‑Site Guidance to Further Advance Radiotherapy Technology
On May 27, Professor Feng Qinfu, a senior expert in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, was invited to visit the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital. He conducted frontline consultations, carried out ward rounds, and organized discussions on complex cases. With his profound clinical experience and forward‑looking academic insights, he injected strong momentum into the high‑quality development of the center's radiotherapy discipline, powerfully advancing the comprehensive improvement of cancer radiotherapy diagnosis and treatment quality.

Professor Feng Qinfu is a senior expert in the field of radiotherapy, serving as a Chief Physician and Master's Supervisor at the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He graduated from Hunan Medical University in 1984 with a bachelor's degree, received his master's degree from Peking Union Medical College in 1990, and pursued further training at Duke University Medical Center in the United States from 1999 to 2000. He specializes in thoracic tumor radiotherapy and comprehensive treatment, with expertise in conformal radiotherapy for lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and thymic tumors, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of radiation‑induced lung injury. Since 2008, he has also been performing intraoperative radiotherapy, completing over 100 cases. He currently serves as a Standing Committee Member of the Chinese Society of Radiation Oncology and a member of the Lung Cancer Professional Committee of the China Anti‑Cancer Association.

During his guidance visit, Professor Feng worked closely on the clinical frontlines, participating fully in the department's diagnostic and treatment activities. During outpatient consultations, he patiently attended to each cancer patient, carefully taking medical histories and comprehensively evaluating their conditions based on examination reports.
