Peak Summer Heat Arrives – Prime Time for Wellness

“Treating Winter Diseases in Summer” is a distinctive therapy in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Rooted in the Huangdi Neijing (Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon) principle of “nourishing yang in spring and summer,” this treatment involves applying specially formulated herbal plasters to specific acupoints during the dog days of summer. When yang energy peaks and the body’s pores open widest, the combined power of natural yang and warming herbs penetrates the meridians and internal organs. This helps dispel deep-seated cold and dampness, strengthen vital qi, and enhance immunity. As an adjunctive therapy, its efficacy varies by individual and must be administered under TCM syndrome differentiation.

To meet community health needs, our department will offer Sanfu Patch (Sanfu Tie) acupuncture-point plaster therapy for 2026.
