[Nationally Renowned Expert Provides Regular Consultations] Professor Zhao Ren from Ningxia Medical University General Hospital’s Radiation Oncology Department Conducts Regular Multidisciplinary Consultations and Ward Rounds at Our Hospital

On April 24, Professor Zhao Ren from the Radiation Oncology Department of Ningxia Medical University General Hospital visited the Heavy Ion Center of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital. During his visit, he conducted teaching ward rounds across various radiation oncology wards, led in-depth discussions and analyses of complex cases, and provided hands-on guidance on the clinical application of cutting-edge medical technologies. This exchange facilitated the sharing of advanced academic insights and standardized diagnosis and treatment experience, effectively supporting our Center in further strengthening its radiotherapy expertise and enhancing comprehensive diagnosis and treatment capabilities.

Professor Zhao Ren is a senior expert and chief physician in radiation oncology. He holds several academic positions, including standing committee member of the Chinese Society for Radiation Oncology and committee member of the Lung Cancer Professional Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association. With extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of thoracic tumors, he specializes in the comprehensive management of lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and mediastinal tumors, integrating radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. He has accumulated rich experience in both clinical practice and scientific research.

During this visit, Professor Zhao Ren thoroughly examined the radiation oncology wards, carefully inquiring about each patient’s condition, treatment progress, and overall health. He engaged in in-depth discussions with the center’s medical team, collaborating to analyze key diagnostic and treatment challenges for individual patients and formulate precise, personalized follow-up treatment plans. He emphasized that cancer treatment is a systematic and comprehensive process, requiring consideration of multiple factors such as the patient’s physical condition, tumor type, and stage, to ensure each treatment plan is more scientific and targeted.

Professor Zhao Ren’s on-site guidance is a key part of the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center’s regular academic exchange program, injecting new momentum into the center’s disciplinary development and clinical advancement. Looking ahead, Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital will continue to deepen the construction of the heavy ion treatment alliance, steadily advance the development and operation of expert workstations, consolidate the hospital’s comprehensive medical service foundation, and enhance overall diagnosis and treatment standards. With the guidance and support of experts like Professor Zhao Ren, Professor Yu Zhilong, and Professor Lan Shengmin, the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center will continue to focus on the standardization of cancer diagnosis and treatment, continuously optimize treatment protocols, refine medical services, and serve cancer patients with mature therapeutic technologies and high-quality medical care, diligently safeguarding patient health and helping improve their quality of life.
