"Bringing Scientific Myopia Prevention and Control Activities to Campuses"
Triple-A Health Knowledge
In active response to the national call for myopia prevention and control among children and adolescents, and to promote scientific eye care knowledge, the ophthalmology team from our hospital recently visited Wuwei No. 10 Middle School and Wuwei No. 15 Middle School to conduct a science popularization lecture on myopia prevention and control for the students.
During the event, the importance of protecting eyesight was emphasized to the children. It was highlighted that childhood and adolescence are critical stages of visual development, and cultivating scientific eye usage habits is essential for preventing myopia.

In the interactive Q&A session, students enthusiastically responded and shared their knowledge on topics such as "personal tips for eye care" and "good eye usage habits," engaging in lively discussions with their peers.

The lecture covered the causes, hazards, prevention, and correction of myopia, with explanations tailored to the eye development characteristics of adolescents. Experts noted that the high incidence of myopia among adolescents is primarily associated with poor eye usage habits, excessive use of electronic devices, and insufficient outdoor activities. It was recommended that students engage in at least two hours of outdoor activities daily, maintain the correct reading and writing posture of "one fist, one foot, and one inch," and undergo regular eye examinations to effectively prevent and control myopia.
Guided by public welfare and driven by professionalism, this campus initiative on myopia prevention and control not only reflects our ophthalmology department’s commitment to "serving the people" and expanding medical services but also builds a protective barrier for children’s vision health through accessible science outreach and thoughtful interactions. In the future, the ophthalmology department will continue to deepen its efforts in public welfare education, bringing professional eye care knowledge to more children. With a sense of responsibility and compassion, we will safeguard the "vision" of childhood, ensuring that every pair of eyes remains clear and bright, and empowering children to stride confidently toward a bright and brilliant future!
