Our Hospital Wins Third Prize in the National Finals of the 6th Smart Healthcare Innovation Competition

On September 22, the "2023 Digital Health Innovation Conference & the National Finals of the 6th Smart Healthcare Innovation Competition" successfully concluded in Harbin. The three-day conference gathered leaders, experts, scholars, and innovative enterprises from the medical and health fields across the country to discuss the innovative development and future trends of smart healthcare.

After two days of intense competition among 224 teams from across the nation, the competition's four main tracks – Technological Innovation, Application Innovation, Healthcare IT Innovation, and Grassroots Innovation – awarded a total of 102 tiered prizes. These included 12 first prizes, 26 second prizes, and 74 third prizes, alongside 169 other individual awards. During the event, nine specialized academic sessions were held, including "Practices in Healthcare IT Innovation" and "Digital Transformation for High-Quality Development." The conference invited over 140 industry experts and scholars, such as Zhang Qin, former Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Vice Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, and Academician of the International Nuclear Energy Academy. A total of 76 thematic reports were presented, and 260 project leaders participated in themed roadshow activities and an exhibition of outstanding achievements.

Among them, a team led by our hospital's Vice President Guan Zhuoyu, and comprising Zhang De, Li Jing, and Li Tianqi from the Information Center, participated with the project "Construction of a Smart Ward System Based on IoT and Wearable Technology." Building upon the intelligent infrastructure of the Heavy Ion Hospital and aiming to create a top-tier smart cloud hospital in Northwest China, Vice President Guan Zhuoyu demonstrated to the experts various already deployed systems. These included the 5G unmanned vehicle, in-room smart TVs, intelligent cleaning and delivery robots, an intelligent infusion alarm system based on IoT and wearable technology, a Bluetooth indoor navigation system, a one-key alarm system for staff and patients, and a smart bracelet vital signs monitoring system. She elaborated on the hospital's long-standing commitment to being patient-demand-oriented, focusing on the difficulties and pain points patients encounter during medical visits. The goal is to enhance patients' experience and sense of gain during their healthcare journey, effectively addressing the "last mile" of patient service. This approach of letting information flow more and patients less, using automation and intelligence to overcome the challenges the elderly face with information technology, received high recognition and praise from the attending experts and resulted in the excellent achievement of winning third prize.
