Convenient Travel, Solving the "Last Mile" for Patients: Heavy Ion Campus Shared Bikes Now in Operation!

"Who would have thought that shared bikes are now available right inside the hospital? They’re everywhere—just scan the code with your phone and you can ride off easily and enjoy the convenience!" On the morning of September 28, at the Heavy Ion Campus of Wuwei Medical Science Institute Cancer Hospital, rows of brand-new shared bikes were neatly arranged. People were scanning codes to ride, praising the newly launched service.

On September 28, through the joint efforts of our hospital and China Tower Corporation Limited Wuwei Branch, shared electric bikes for closed-campus scenarios were officially introduced at the Heavy Ion Campus of Gansu Wuwei Medical Science Institute Cancer Hospital, following four months of preparation.

This project emerged after China Tower Corporation Limited Wuwei Branch conducted inspections and surveys at the Heavy Ion Campus. It was identified as a key initiative to deepen collaboration and was treated as a "top-leadership" project, implemented swiftly with continuous follow-up. With strong guidance and support from the Provincial Energy Business Department, installation began immediately after equipment arrival. Within just two days, tasks including vehicle assembly, battery swapping, system deployment, zone mapping, parking space marking, and campaign configuration were completed, officially launching the pilot operation phase today.

In response to patient feedback indicating that the campus is large and travel between buildings is time-consuming, the hospital promptly proposed and implemented solutions.

The introduction of shared bikes has addressed the "last mile" of travel service, significantly enhancing the experience for patients, families, and medical staff, while building a safe, convenient, and green multi-dimensional transportation service. It also represents a new approach to collaboration between our hospital and China Tower Corporation Limited Wuwei Branch—improving facilities, promoting green travel, and offering new mobility options. This initiative not only encourages more people to adopt eco-friendly transportation but also provides a greener, healthier, and more pleasant experience for leisure and sightseeing. Additionally, it helps create a more civilized and harmonious campus environment, making shared bikes a standout feature of the Heavy Ion Center.
