From October 23rd to 26th, the 20th Academic Conference of Radiation Oncology of the Chinese Medical Association was successfully held in Qingdao, Shandong. As a top-tier academic event in the field of radiation oncology, this conference brought together leading domestic and international experts and scholars to discuss cutting-edge technologies and industry trends. At the conference, President Ye Yanchang of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital delivered a special report titled "Evaluation of Clinical Application Effects of Heavy Ion Innovative Technology," focusing on showcasing the hospital's globally pioneering new technologies. These include "Precision Heavy Ion Therapy under High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilator Control," "Heavy Ion Hypofractionated Therapy Completed Within 5 Sessions," "Single-Session Boost Technique with Implanted Spacer Between Viscera and Normal Tissue," "Precision Therapy Technology for Pancreatic Cancer," "Heavy Ion Therapy Technology for Breast Cancer," and "Heavy Ion Therapy Technology for Bladder Cancer." These advancements garnered widespread attention from experts present.

Regarding high-frequency oscillatory ventilation-controlled heavy ion precision therapy for early-stage lung cancer and oligometastatic lung cancer patients, compared to conventional radiotherapy, the one-year survival rate increased by 30%, and the two-year survival rate doubled. The developed short-course treatment regimen completed within 5 sessions improved local control rates and overall survival rates for lung and liver cancer patients by over 10% compared to conventional photons, reduced hospitalization time by more than half, and significantly lowered medical costs.

For the technique involving implanted spacers between viscera and normal tissue with a single-session boost, it provides a "life-saving solution" for patients where tumors are entwined with normal tissues, making them unsuitable for traditional surgery or radiotherapy. This achieves the goal of ensuring the planned dose to the tumor while protecting normal tissues.

In bladder cancer treatment supported by patented technology, based on precise positioning, it achieves "effective tumor eradication without organ loss or impairment of urinary function," preserving patients' physiological functions and quality of life while effectively controlling the tumor.

For stage III pancreatic cancer precision therapy, through precise positioning technology, the average overall survival of patients reaches 22 months, placing the efficacy among the global advanced level.
