"Comprehensive Measures, Scientific Cancer Prevention": Our Hospital Holds Series of Events for National Tumor Prevention and Control Awareness Week
April 15-21 this year marks the 30th National Tumor Prevention and Control Awareness Week. The theme for this year's Awareness Week is "Comprehensive Measures, Scientific Cancer Prevention". Aligned with the requirements of the "Healthy China Action-Cancer Prevention and Control Action Implementation Plan (2023-2030)", the initiative aims to expand science popularization on cancer prevention and control, promote the concept that everyone is the first person responsible for their own health, disseminate anti-cancer knowledge, enhance overall societal awareness of cancer prevention, mobilize support and participation from all sectors in cancer prevention efforts, and foster a positive atmosphere for nationwide cancer prevention and control. Centering around this theme, our hospital organized a diverse and multi-faceted series of activities.

Series Activity 1: Free Health Consultations
To promote cancer prevention awareness, facilitate public access to medical consultations, and improve public health literacy, the Department of Public Health and the Medical Department of our hospital, in collaboration with various clinical departments, held free health consultation sessions on the mornings of April 16, 17, and 19 at South Cultural Square, the Botanical Garden, and South Gate Square in Liangzhou District.
These sessions were led by Hu Junguo, Director of the Department of Public Health. Over 30 medical experts participated, offering feasible medical advice, reasonable dietary suggestions, and detailed explanations about disease complications to the public.
These activities cumulatively served over 500 people, effectively raising public awareness about cancer prevention, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and receiving positive feedback from the public .





At the event, our hospital's experts warmly received every attending community member, carefully listening to their descriptions of conditions. They provided feasible medical advice, offered reasonable dietary suggestions, and gave detailed explanations about complications of related diseases. This helped the public understand the risks of illnesses and how to prevent and manage them, increased awareness of cancer prevention and anti-cancer knowledge, and improved the overall awareness rate of tumor prevention and control.
This free health consultation event cumulatively served over 500 people. Through this activity, public attention to cancer issues was raised, helping more people correctly understand cancer, develop healthy lifestyles, enhance prevention awareness, and standardize and scientifically prevent and control cancer. It played a significant role in widely disseminating cancer prevention and treatment knowledge and improving public awareness of cancer prevention. The event received broad attention and positive feedback from the general public, who widely considered such free clinic activities very meaningful and helpful in raising public health consciousness.

Series Activity 2: Science Popularization Lectures
First Lecture: "Understanding Cancer Pain"On the morning of April 15, a lecture titled "Understanding Cancer Pain" was held in the outpatient hall of the Heavy Ion Center.
The session, led by Director Zhang Depeng and Head Nurse Ding Huilian, aimed to deepen public understanding of cancer pain and provide care and support for patients and their families. Attendees found the information on cancer pain management valuable.

Second Lecture: "Clinical Application of Domestic Carbon Ion Treatment Systems"On the afternoon of April 20, a lecture titled "Health Guardianship for a Worry-Free Family" was held in the conference room on the seventh floor of the central hospital campus. Director Chen Weizuo presented on "Clinical Application and Practice of Domestic Carbon Ion Treatment Systems," covering the system's development, indications, and cancer causes, and advising on scientific anti-cancer plans through case studies.
The event was well-received.

Looking ahead, we will continue to integrate expert resources to provide high-quality health services and enhance the impact of our activities. Beyond lectures and consultations, we disseminate tumor prevention knowledge through our WeChat public account, posters, and hospital electronic screens to improve public health literacy.
