Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital Defines Its Mission, Vision, and Values for the "15th Five-Year Plan" Period
On July 19, the "High-Quality Development China Tour · Advancing Gansu" special event visited the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital, offering a comprehensive look at the center’s remarkable achievements and determined efforts in its high-quality development journey. That same day, the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center held a policy interpretation conference on its fifth anniversary of high-quality development. Centered on the goal of "making advanced cancer treatment technology accessible to all," the hospital officially unveiled its core cultural concepts, including its vision and values.

Coinciding with the milestone of five years of clinical application of the first domestically produced heavy ion equipment, the hospital seized the opportunity of participating in the evaluation for the Gansu Provincial Government Quality Award to refine and elevate its cultural framework. It clearly defined its mission, vision, and values for the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, charting a clear course for its future development. The hospital adheres to the core values of "compassion, harmony, and health," with its mission stated as "gathering cutting-edge global technologies to benefit cancer patients worldwide" and its vision as "becoming the global destination for patients to conquer cancer." This reflects not only a high level of confidence in its medical technology and service quality but also a long-term blueprint to build an internationally influential hub for cancer diagnosis and treatment. By continuously improving diagnostic and treatment capabilities and optimizing service processes, the hospital aims to reignite patients’ confidence and hope in overcoming the disease worldwide.

At the same time, the hospital further clarified its foundational principles and development path: upholding the tenet of "staying focused on saving lives and healing the wounded" and implementing the quality policy of "excellence in medical skills, purity in medical ethics, meticulous service, and a deeply rooted brand." This multi-dimensional approach enhances core competitiveness through technology, ethics, service, and branding. The hospital also adopted a quality strategy of "precisely cultivating suitable talent, meticulously implementing disease diagnosis and treatment, and accurately ensuring quality details" to provide talent support and process guarantees for high-quality development.

In terms of strategic goals, the hospital proposed "achieving a five-year survival rate for every cancer patient treated that meets international advanced standards," quantifying the direction of medical quality improvement. To realize this goal, the hospital promotes a precision diagnosis and treatment model centered on heavy ion therapy, known as "two cycles, three multiplicities" (两循三多). Through standardized and personalized treatment plans, it provides patients with precise and efficient medical services.

The definition of the hospital’s mission, vision, values, and series of development concepts for the "15th Five-Year Plan" period represents both a summary and refinement of its experience over the five years of heavy ion clinical application and a strategic blueprint for the future. Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital will take this as a new starting point to deepen its efforts in cancer prevention and treatment. With higher-level medical technology and superior services, it will steadily advance toward its vision of becoming "the global destination for patients to conquer cancer," making greater contributions to elevating China’s cancer diagnosis and treatment standards and safeguarding public health.
