2025 Provincial Medical Training Workshop Announcement

Respected Experts, Scholars, and Colleagues:

The incidence of hematologic malignancies (e.g., leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, etc.) has been rising annually, accounting for 10% of the global cancer burden. These diseases are characterized by high relapse rates, significant heterogeneity, and poor prognosis in certain subtypes (e.g., the 5-year survival rate for acute myeloid leukemia is <30%). The complexity and precision required for their diagnosis and treatment continue to increase. Current treatment modalities (e.g., chemotherapy, targeted therapy, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, CAR-T, etc.) face challenges such as drug resistance, toxicity, and high costs. Despite rapid advancements in diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, primary healthcare institutions often lack standardized diagnostic and treatment capabilities, resulting in low early diagnosis rates, insufficient high-sensitivity/specificity biomarkers, limited treatment options, inadequate personalized therapy, complex resistance mechanisms, difficulties in patient management, missing long-term follow-up data, and insufficient attention to quality of life. Clinicians’ grasp of the latest guidelines, molecular diagnostic technologies, targeted therapies, and immunotherapies remains uneven. There is an urgent need for systematic training to enhance the standardized diagnosis and treatment proficiency and multidisciplinary collaboration (MDT) capabilities of physicians across all levels of medical institutions. This includes promoting the latest domestic and international guidelines, clinical pathways, and MDT models, as well as establishing academic exchange platforms to improve regional healthcare professionals' diagnostic and treatment competencies.

The National Health Commission’s Diagnosis and Treatment Standards for Hematologic Diseases sets specific requirements for precision medicine in hematologic diseases, outlining goals in areas such as accurate diagnosis, stratified treatment, targeted therapy and personalized medication, application of new technologies, multidisciplinary collaboration (MDT), and ethical patient management.

To enhance the standardized diagnosis and treatment of hematologic malignancies (e.g., leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, etc.) across medical institutions and to advance the principles of multidisciplinary collaboration (MDT) and personalized treatment, the "Training Workshop on Standardized Diagnosis and Treatment of Hematologic Malignancies"—a provincial continuing medical education (CME) project (Code: 0250304007)—will be held offline on June 28, 2025, hosted by the Beijing Chronic Disease Treatment and Health Education Research Association and organized by the Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital.

Objectives of this workshop:

  1. Strengthen Standardized Diagnosis & Treatment: Disseminate the latest international and domestic guidelines and consensus to standardize disease diagnosis, stratification, treatment, and follow-up, reducing variability in clinical practice.
  2. Enhance Professional Competence: Improve healthcare professionals' skills in differential diagnosis of complex cases, interpretation of molecular testing, and application of targeted/immunotherapy through theoretical lectures, case discussions, and hands-on training.
  3. Promote Multidisciplinary Collaboration (MDT): Foster integration across specialties (hematology, pathology, radiology, radiotherapy, etc.) to optimize holistic patient management.
  4. Explore Cutting-Edge Advances: Introduce emerging technologies (e.g., CAR-T, next-generation sequencing), hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and clinical trial outcomes to broaden clinical perspectives.
  5. Improve Patient Outcomes: Enhance survival rates and quality of life through standardized and precision medicine, supporting the "Healthy China" initiative.

This workshop invites renowned experts and scholars in hematologic malignancies—spanning basic research, clinical diagnosis, treatment strategies, and prognostic evaluation—to deliver lectures and share insights. By elevating physicians' diagnostic and treatment proficiency, we aim to provide higher-quality medical care to more patients with hematologic malignancies. Additionally, through enhanced collaboration and knowledge exchange among doctors, we seek to stimulate innovative thinking, drive technological advancements in the field, and lay a stronger foundation for patient recovery.
