Notably, carbon ion radiotherapy technology is internationally recognized as a cutting-edge treatment for tumors, boasting advantages such as high precision, low side effects, short treatment duration, high cure rate, and non-invasiveness. Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital has achieved remarkable milestones in this field—the first and second Chinese heavy ion therapy systems have been successively installed at the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center of Wuwei Cancer Hospital and the Lanzhou Heavy Ion Center, respectively, realizing integrated heavy ion therapy operations.

To date, the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center has successfully treated over 1,500 patients from both domestic and international regions, demonstrating definitive efficacy and significant outcomes. Moving forward, Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital will actively collaborate with the Bethune Public Welfare Foundation, integrate Jingang Ion charitable cultural products, expand support for underprivileged patients, and contribute to social harmony and the Healthy China initiative.
