Dean Ye Yancheng lectured on "Wuwei Heavy Ion Therapy Center: Construction & Clinical Practice.

The Wuwei Heavy Ion Therapy Center, as China's first clinical application center for heavy ion therapy systems, has treated 1,437 patients, achieving favorable therapeutic outcomes for complex lesions in the brain, pancreas, lungs and other critical areas, with patients coming from across the country. Meanwhile, it has established a comprehensive, full-life-cycle health management system characterized by integrated tumor therapy, dietary management, psychosomatic health care, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation, rehabilitation therapy, biological immunocellular therapy, pastoral therapy and cultural therapy.

The participating parties reached a consensus to deepen cooperation in treating refractory diseases such as glioblastoma and lung cancer with heavy ion therapy, jointly exploring new approaches for rare earth materials to enhance the efficacy of heavy ion treatment. Meanwhile, both sides will collaborate to establish a Joint Laboratory for Rare Earth Biomedicine, laying a solid foundation for in-depth scientific research. Looking back eight years, Wuwei Academy of Medical and Science Cancer Hospital took the lead in strategically positioning itself in the fields of genetic diagnosis and cellular therapy. The establishment of the Gansu Branch of the National Engineering Research Center for Beijing Biochip Technology and the Biological Immunocellular Laboratory marked the hospital's advancement toward cutting-edge international technologies for tumor diagnosis and treatment. Today, these platforms have become crucial pillars of precision medicine, working synergistically with heavy ion therapy to form a robust defense against cancer.
