Partnering with China's first heavy ion therapy system, the second Chinese-made heavy ion cancer treatment system officially commenced clinical operations at the Lanzhou Heavy Ion Center on November 15, 2024. To date, it has provided professional and efficient diagnosis and treatment services to 195 cancer patients, including 93 cases treated with heavy ions and 102 cases with photon therapy, covering 40+ cancer types across all disease sites such as lung cancer, liver cancer, and glioblastoma.

The Lanzhou Heavy Ion Center has established an outstanding talent system that attracts elite professionals, forming an expert workstation led by 50 top authorities in the field, including Professor Shen Wenjiang, Lifetime Honorary Professor of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Peking University Health Science Center, and Professor Xu Bo, Standing Committee Member of the Radiation Oncology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association.
