National Radiation Oncology Expert Visits Lanzhou: Delivering Precision Medicine with Compassion

On May 23, Professor Shen Wenjiang, a senior radiation oncologist certified by the Chinese Medical Association and a nationally renowned physician, visited our hospital to conduct consultations, ward rounds, and provide guidance. He brought cutting-edge academic insights and extensive clinical experience to our oncology diagnosis and treatment efforts, offering new hope to numerous cancer patients.

Professor Shen Wenjiang is a Lifetime Honorary Professor of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Peking University Health Science Center (PUHSC) and a recipient of the State Council Special Allowance. He enjoys an outstanding reputation and has made remarkable contributions in the field of radiation oncology, with extensive clinical experience in radiotherapy and comprehensive treatment for various malignant and benign diseases.

During his visit, Professor Shen conducted in-depth ward rounds in our hospital’s oncology department. He carefully reviewed patients’ treatment progress and physical responses, engaged inconducted case-based teaching sessions with attending physicians, and generously shared his decades of clinical expertise—covering diagnostic approaches, treatment strategies, and prognostic evaluations—based on specific cases. The physicians attentively took notes and raised professional questions, all of which Professor Shen answered in meticulous detail.

Afterwards, at the center’s VIP outpatient clinic, Professor Shen reviewed the medical records of every scheduled patient, meticulously inquired about their medical history, conducted thorough case analyses, and formulated personalized treatment plans—all while provided patient-centered counseling with shared decision-making in overcoming their illnesses.
