The "Expert Outreach to Grassroots – Learn from Lei Feng 'Famous Doctors Bring Health' Volunteer Service Demonstration Project" and "Healthy China • Grassroots Hepatology Diagnosis and Treatment Capacity Building Project" Minqin Initiative were successfully held at Minqin County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine on May 10, 2025. Attendees included Tang Yongfu, President of Minqin County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Xie Bin, Vice President; and Zhang Wenhua, Honorary President, Chief Expert, and Director of the Hepatobiliary Center at Wuwei Cancer Hospital in Gansu Province. Experts from Wuwei Cancer Hospital’s Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Respiratory Medicine, Nuclear Medicine, and Diabetes Departments conducted free consultations and lectures, while medical staff from Minqin County Hospital, community clinics, and township health centers participated in the event.

The "Expert Outreach to Grassroots – Learn from Lei Feng 'Famous Doctors Bring Health' Volunteer Service Demonstration Project" and "Healthy China • Grassroots Hepatology Capacity Building Project" aim to enhance grassroots healthcare providers’ hepatology diagnosis and treatment capabilities through training, exchanges, screenings, and free consultations. These initiatives provide convenient medical services for local patients and drive the optimization and upgrading of grassroots healthcare systems.

The Hepatobiliary Center of Wuwei Cancer Hospital, now a National Hepatobiliary Disease Prevention and Treatment Technology Demonstration Base, offers comprehensive clinical and research services in hepatology, including liver protection, antiviral therapy, artificial liver support, surgical interventions, interventional procedures, minimally invasive techniques, iodine seed implantation, targeted immunotherapy, cellular immunotherapy, and stem cell transplantation. It is one of few single-disease centers in China capable of integrated hepatology diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management. The center conducts multiple real-world research projects and national-level public welfare initiatives, hosts expert consultation platforms for complex hepatology cases, and operates Gansu’s first Diabetes-Liver Disease Co-Management Center, benefiting patients with severe hepatobiliary diseases, diabetes, fatty liver, and other metabolic disorders.
