Lanzhou Heavy Ion Center Community Public Welfare Free Clinic
To practice the Healthy China strategy, effectively serve community residents, and enhance public health literacy, the Lanzhou Heavy Ion Center successfully held a community public welfare free clinic with the theme "Integrating Chinese and Western Medicine for Physical and Mental Well-being" on the morning of October 15.
The event site was bustling with people. Residents who had heard the news came early and queued up, proceeding with orderly consultations under the guidance of staff. Experts from our hospital's Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Oncology Rehabilitation Department, Surgical Oncology Department, and Medical Oncology Department patiently and meticulously interpreted physical examination reports, analyzed imaging data, answered various disease-related questions for residents, and provided easy-to-understand science popularization on rehabilitation and nursing. Simultaneously, the Traditional Chinese Medicine consultation area was highly popular. Experienced TCM experts, using the four diagnostic methods of inspection, listening and smelling, inquiry, and palpation, identified residents' constitutions, analyzed sub-health conditions, and provided personalized health preservation and conditioning advice, along with dietary therapy prescriptions or simple herbal formulas, demonstrating the unique advantages of TCM in "preventive treatment of disease" and chronic condition management.

Auntie Wang: "I just had surgery recently and need physical rehabilitation therapy. This free clinic is excellent. I will do my physical therapy at your hospital later to regulate my body's functions," said Auntie Wang happily, who had just undergone surgery and was in urgent need of rehabilitation.
Uncle Zhang: "I haven't been sleeping well lately and feel tired all over. It was great to consult the TCM doctor. The explanation was very clear, and I learned many daily conditioning methods. I feel much more reassured now," said Uncle Zhang, who had just received a consultation.
This event distinctly featured the characteristic of "Integrating Chinese and Western Medicine." Through the joint free clinic of experts, it aimed to convey to the public the comprehensive health concept of "Physical and Mental Well-being," which means not only focusing on the treatment of the disease itself but also paying attention to the regulation and rehabilitation of the overall physical and mental state. Modern Western medicine excels in precise diagnosis and efficient treatment, while traditional Chinese medicine is adept at holistic regulation and strengthening the body's resistance. The combination of both can provide patients with more optimized and humanized health management solutions. In addition to expert consultations, the event also offered free basic health check services such as blood pressure and blood glucose measurements, and distributed various health education pamphlets covering topics like prevention and treatment of common diseases, healthy eating, and scientific exercise, attracting a large number of residents to stop, collect, and learn.

This free clinic is one of the hospital's important initiatives to give back to the community and serve the public. By bringing high-quality medical resources directly to the community, it not only made it convenient for residents to access high-level medical consultation services close to home and effectively enhanced public health awareness and self-care capabilities but also further shortened the distance between the hospital and community residents. In the future, the Center will continue to uphold the "people-oriented" service tenet, explore more diverse health service models, and regularly organize such public-benefit activities, contributing more to safeguarding the life and health of the people in the Longyuan region.
