Bringing Care Closer to Home: Community Outreach Clinic by Lanzhou Branch of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital Concludes Successfully

In a heartfelt effort to put patients first and bring quality cancer care directly to the community, the Lanzhou Branch of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital organized a multidisciplinary outreach event on July 24. Specialists from Medical Oncology, Gastroenterology, and Cancer Rehabilitation conducted one-on-one consultations throughout the day. Alongside free blood pressure and glucose checks, the medical team offered clear, practical guidance on common illnesses, chronic conditions, and cancer prevention—addressing concerns with both professionalism and empathy.

Residents arrived with urgent questions: “What should I do about persistent stomach pain?” “Are small lung nodules something to worry about?” Each concern was met with patient, personalized advice on screening and follow-up care. “It’s so thoughtful to have specialists come to us!” became a common refrain, as many expressed relief at avoiding the usual hassle of hospital visits.
