Uniting Strengths to Elevate Excellence: Advancing Quality Through Comprehensive Analysis

In order to continuously improve the quality of nursing services and deepen the connotation of nursing quality management, the Nursing Department of Wuwei Cancer Hospital of Gansu Province organized a nursing quality analysis and summary meeting in the first quarter of 2025 in the first conference room of heavy ion on the afternoon of April 24th. The meeting focused on the work quality of the large science area, quarterly nursing quality control data, adverse event analysis, feedback on nursing quality management problems and improvement measures, aiming to summarize experience, find shortcomings, and clarify the direction for the next stage of nursing work. The meeting was presided over by Guo Yumei, director of the nursing department, and more than 140 people attended the meeting, including the head nurse, nursing team leader, and nurses of the hospital, and the nurses of Lanzhou Hospital participated online.

First of all, the four head nurses of the major department reported on the work management of the department in the first quarter, and our hospital will implement the three-level management model from 2024, after a year of continuous improvement and development, nursing rounds, consultations, case discussions and business learning have shown a vigorous development trend, and the quality of nursing is also improving step by step. Secondly, the quality control team leader reported the nursing quality control work in the first quarter in turn, and the team leaders used charts to objectively reflect the quality control scores of each department, and used supervision photos to feedback the problems existing in clinical work and put forward rectification measures. Our hospital has a total of 7 quality control groups and 3 specialty management groups, covering all aspects of nursing work, taking link quality control as the starting point to comprehensively improve the quality of nursing.

Finally, Director Guo of the Nursing Department systematically reported on the completion of nursing quality indicators in this quarter, including core data such as three-level quality control, work quality assessment of the  nurse managers and the incidence of adverse events. Through horizontal (inter-departmental) and longitudinal (annual comparison) analysis, the bright spots and shortcomings are pointed out, and the multi-dimensional and multi-level analysis of fall adverse events is emphasized, and improvement measures are proposed. Director Guo pointed out that the quality of nursing is the lifeline of medical safety, and it is necessary to take the problem as the starting point, take the standard as the criterion, and run the "fine management" throughout. It is necessary to pay more attention to the humanistic care of nursing, so that the technology has temperature and the service has depth.
