JingLong Medical Group Embarking on a New Chapter of Collaboration
To further enhance the level of radiotherapy for cancer treatment in our hospital and promote the dissemination of high-quality medical resources, on April 18th, Professor Liu Yuanzhao, Chair of the Stereotactic Radiotherapy Committee of the National Tumor Minimally Invasive Industry Alliance and Chief Physician of the Radiotherapy Department at Beijing Hospital, accepted our invitation to conduct outpatient consultations, ward rounds, and professional guidance at our institution. Concurrently, our hospital presented Professor Liu Yuanzhao with a Letter of Appointment for the Distinguished Expert Workstation, which marking a substantial step forward in our collaboration across medical technology advancement and disciplinary development.

Professor Liu Yuanzhao Receives Letter of Appointment for the Distinguished Expert Workstation from Qi Ying
Professor Liu Yuanzhao currently serves as the Chairman of the Stereotactic Radiotherapy Committee of the National Tumor Minimally Invasive Industry Alliance and Chief Physician of the Radiotherapy Department at Beijing Hospital. He specializes in clinical research on cancer radiotherapy and related topics, with extensive clinical experience, particularly in the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck tumors. He has treated nearly 1,000 patients with head and neck tumors using X-ray stereotactic radiotherapy. In recent years, he has focused on high-dose irradiation for early-stage tumors and image-guided intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IG-IMRT), enabling curative treatment for elderly cancer patients.

Furthermore, he shared Beijing Hospital's valuable clinical experience in radiation oncology practice through evidence-based case studies.
Simultaneously, Professor Liu conducted thorough patient consultations, meticulously reviewing diagnostic imaging and laboratory reports. For each clinical scenario, he formulated personalized treatment plans incorporating: tumor staging characteristics, radiobiological parameters, individualized risk-benefit analysis.
This integrated approach demonstrated the application of precision medicine in modern radiation therapy.

Heavy ion therapy is recognized as one of the most advanced cancer treatment technologies in the world now. Utilizing heavy ion beams to deliver a "precision strike" against tumors, this 21st-century therapy stands out for its unique advantages, including minimal radiation damage to healthy tissues, shorter treatment cycles, and high tumor control rates and so on.

Since its official commencement in November 2024, the Lanzhou Heavy Ion Center has completed photon and heavy ion therapy for 139 patients. The center has established an elite talent system by gathering top experts in the field, including 50 industry-leading authorities such as Professor Shen Wenjiang (Lifetime Honorary Professor of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Peking University Health Science Center) and Professor Xu Bo (Standing Committee Member of the Radiotherapy Oncology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association). Under the leadership of Professor Wang Junjie, Chairman of the Radiotherapy Oncology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association who serves as the president, the center has formed specialized expert workstations that provide robust technical support for heavy ion therapy. This distinguished team ensures cutting-edge expertise in advanced radiation treatment technologies.
The center is equipped with cutting-edge medical devices such as the Varian VitalBeam medical linear accelerator, Elekta Infinity four-dimensional image-guided linear accelerator, 3.0T simulated positioning MRI, and GE 256-slice high-end CT. These advanced facilities ensure efficient and precise treatment processes, solidifying the foundation for high-quality heavy ion therapy.

To further enhance the radiation oncology capabilities of our hospital and promote the integration of high-quality medical resources, Professor Liu Yuanzhao—Chief Physician of the Radiotherapy Department at Beijing Hospital and Chairman of the Stereotactic Radiotherapy Committee under the National Tumor Minimally Invasive Industry Alliance—was invited to our institution on April 18. During his visit, he conducted clinical consultations, ward rounds, and provided professional guidance. Concurrently, our hospital formally appointed Professor Liu as a distinguished expert workstation member, marking a solid step forward in collaborative efforts to advance medical technology and strengthen disciplinary development between the two parties.
