To further strengthen the foundation of hematology care at our hospital, advance specialized diagnostic and treatment capabilities, enhance talent development within the discipline, and bring high‑quality medical resources directly to the community – enabling local residents to access expert‑level hematology services without leaving home – the Department of Hematology at our hospital recently invited Professor Hao Miaowang from Tangdu Hospital, Air Force Medical University, to deliver lectures and provide outpatient consultations. Through this expert engagement, the hospital aims to support high‑quality specialty development and protect the health of the community with skilled clinical care.

Professor Hao Miaowang is an Associate Chief Physician, Associate Professor, and Master’s Supervisor in the Department of Hematology at Tangdu Hospital, Air Force Medical University. He has many years of experience in clinical and research work in hematology. Professor Hao currently serves as a member of the Shaanxi Society of Hematology (affiliated with the Chinese Medical Association), Vice Chair of the Xi'an Society of Hematology, and Standing Committee Member of the relevant Shaanxi branch of the China Anti‑Cancer Association. He has received a second‑prize award for Military Medical Achievement and two third‑prize awards for medical achievements at the hospital and university level. He has led one Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Program project and participated in both a National 863 Program project and a National Natural Science Foundation project. Professor Hao has published more than 40 papers in core journals, including 12 SCI papers, reflecting his deep clinical and academic expertise.

During his lectures, Professor Hao Miaowang drew on his many years of clinical and research experience, along with typical complex cases, to provide detailed instruction on core topics in hematology, including clinical diagnostic reasoning, key distinguishing features, standardized treatment protocols, emerging techniques, and practical challenges in clinical practice. The content was both professional and practical, integrating cutting‑edge developments. Professor Hao systematically reviewed diagnostic and treatment standards for both common and complex hematologic conditions and provided an in‑depth analysis of subtle but often overlooked clinical details, as well as strategies to address them – closely aligning with the clinical and disciplinary development needs of our Department of Hematology. The attending physicians and nursing staff listened attentively, took detailed notes, and actively participated in discussions. They noted that the lectures were clear and insightful, offering highly practical guidance. The sessions effectively broadened their clinical perspectives and will play an important role in strengthening their ability to provide standardized care for patients with hematologic disorders.

Following the lectures, Professor Hao Miaowang conducted specialized outpatient consultations as scheduled. Throughout his sessions, he maintained a rigorous, attentive, and responsible approach – carefully assessing each patient, taking detailed medical histories, reviewing test results, and analyzing the causes and characteristics of the condition. He formulated personalized, scientifically sound treatment plans based on each patient’s individual situation. At the same time, he patiently addressed questions from patients and their families regarding treatment, medication standards, daily care, and prognosis and rehabilitation. Through his professional expertise and compassionate approach, Professor Hao helped alleviate patient anxiety. By providing high‑quality specialist care without requiring patients to leave the hospital, he earned widespread praise and recognition from both patients and their families.

Following the outpatient sessions, Professor Hao Miaowang conducted teaching rounds in the inpatient ward, providing hands‑on guidance to help our medical and nursing team improve their skills and efficiency. During the rounds, Professor Hao focused on complex and critically ill patients with hematologic disorders. He carefully listened to case presentations by the attending physicians, thoroughly reviewed each patient's treatment course, and systematically analyzed current diagnostic challenges and technical difficulties. Drawing on the actual clinical context, he provided on‑site guidance to refine treatment plans, and offered detailed instruction on key aspects such as severity assessment, individualized medication strategies, complication prevention, and comprehensive care management. He also identified and corrected subtle practice deviations in clinical care. Through bedside case analysis, immersive teaching, and direct, targeted question‑and‑answer discussions, Professor Hao effectively helped our medical staff overcome cognitive limitations in clinical reasoning, significantly enhancing the department's capacity to comprehensively assess and appropriately manage complex and critically ill patients with hematologic disorders.
