The Lanzhou Campus of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital is the second clinical heavy ion center in China to operate with domestically developed intellectual property, managed by Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital. Building on the experience of more than 2,800 treatment cases at the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center, the Lanzhou center has already completed over 600 photon and heavy ion treatments. Guided by 50 nationally renowned experts, it is forging a new national high ground for heavy ion therapy.

Talent development is the core engine for high‑quality development in healthcare. The hospital has established a high‑level expert workstations, bringing together leading figures in radiotherapy from across the country. The core clinical team includes 50 top domestic experts, such as Professor Shen Wenjiang, Emeritus Professor of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Peking University Health Science Center, and Professor Xu Bo, Standing Committee Member of the Chinese Society of Radiation Oncology. Professor Wang Junjie, Chair of the Chinese Society of Radiation Oncology, serves as the Dean of the Lanzhou Campus. These leading experts regularly participate in multidisciplinary consultations, clinical technical guidance, and cutting‑edge academic exchanges, building a solid talent and technical foundation for high‑precision, standardized heavy ion therapy.

In terms of hardware, the campus is equipped with a comprehensive range of internationally advanced cancer diagnosis and treatment technologies, forming a standardized, intelligent, and precise modern oncology service system. Core equipment includes the Varian VitalBeam medical linear accelerator, the Elekta Infinity four‑dimensional image‑guided radiotherapy linear accelerator, a 3.0T simulation and positioning MRI, a GE 256‑slice high‑end spiral CT, a Varian Iridium‑192 afterloader, and other advanced radiotherapy and imaging devices. This enables precise tumor localization, accurate treatment planning, and precise radiation dose delivery, systematically enhancing the accuracy and safety of cancer care.
