Longxi Medical Alliance Launch: Expert Team Signs Agreement & Holds Free Clinic
To further expand access to high‑quality medical services at the grassroots level and strengthen cross‑regional medical alliance collaboration — making it easier for local residents to receive care close to home — on June 5, a team of experts led by Li Xiaojun, Vice President of the Lanzhou Campus of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital, visited the Second People's Hospital of Longxi County. The team conducted expert ward rounds, delivered academic lectures, and took part in a signing and unveiling ceremony to formalize a medical alliance partnership.

The visiting expert team was highly accomplished. It included specially invited Professor Yu Jianjun from the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region People's Hospital, as well as Vice President Li Xiaojun and specialists such as Pan Ming and Chen Cheng from our hospital. Together, these multidisciplinary experts — spanning radiation oncology, medical oncology (including hematologic malignancies), and surgical oncology — provided a public free clinic for the local community. As a result, residents of Longxi County were able to receive high‑level specialist care without having to leave their home county.

Lecture Session & Unveiling Ceremony
During the academic training session, three experts – Yu Jianjun, Li Xiaojun, and Pan Ming – delivered specialized lectures on cutting‑edge topics, including standardized diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer, comprehensive management of breast cancer, novel heavy ion anti‑tumor technologies, and clinical diagnosis and treatment of hematologic malignancies. Each lecture incorporated typical clinical cases. The session provided an efficient academic exchange platform for grassroots medical staff in Longxi, supporting efforts to enhance and upgrade local diagnostic and treatment capabilities.

During the meeting, Vice President Li Xiaojun of our hospital and Xian Zhanqi, President of the Second People's Hospital of Longxi County, jointly signed the medical alliance cooperation agreement and unveiled the partnership plaque. With this agreement in place, the two hospitals have established a formal mechanism for ongoing collaboration. As a result, cancer patients from Longxi and surrounding areas no longer need to travel far for advanced care. Through the medical alliance, they can now access a range of convenient services including remote consultations with top specialists from our hospital, customized treatment planning, and a green channel for two‑way referrals – effectively creating a more accessible care pathway for grassroots cancer care.

Going forward, the Lanzhou Campus of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital will regularly organize expert outreach programs to support grassroots communities – including free clinics, academic collaborations, and medical alliance initiatives. By continuing to bring high‑quality cancer care resources directly to the people, the hospital aims to contribute in a tangible way to building a Healthy Gansu.
