— Our Hospital Wins the Contribution Award for Major Project Construction in Wuwei City’s High-Quality Development

On February 7, at the Wuwei City High-Quality Development Industrial Chain Chain Chief Oath-taking and Major Project Construction Launch Conference, the municipal party committee and government recognized and rewarded major projects that made outstanding contributions to high-quality development in 2021. Gansu Wuwei Medical Science Academy Cancer Hospital was awarded the Contribution Award for Major Project Construction in Wuwei City's High-Quality Development.

The hospital, closely aligning with the city's overall vision of "adhering to the path of ecological priority and green development, striving to build an economically strong city, an ecologically major city, and a famous cultural tourism city, and fully creating a harmonious Wuwei characterized by beautiful ecology, superior industries, prosperous culture, and wealthy people," actively integrates into the broader development context, vigorously seizes major project construction, and makes due contributions to the high-quality economic and social development of Wuwei.

Wuwei City Urban Nucleic Acid Testing Base

The hospital established the Wuwei City Urban Nucleic Acid Testing Base. During the COVID-19 outbreak in Gansu in 2021, the "troika" of nucleic acid testing, represented by the Wuwei Urban Nucleic Acid Testing Base, achieved a daily testing capacity (single test) of 25,000 tubes; it undertook 50% of the city's nucleic acid testing tasks and 70% of the tasks in Liangzhou District.

World's Most Advanced Examination Equipment: GE Super Iteration PET-CT

The hospital established the Gansu Western Regional Medical Center (PET-CT Center) and introduced the first super iteration PET-CT in Gansu Province. It is the only center in Gansu Province simultaneously conducting 11C and 18F imaging; the introduced PET-CT is a super iteration equipment launched by GE that leads the world trend; it is the highest-end and most precise examination project of the 21st century; suitable for screening tumors, cardiovascular, and cerebrovascular diseases. This center has successfully diagnosed over 500 patients.

VitalBeam Linear Accelerator

The hospital established the Gansu Western Regional Medical Center (Radiotherapy Center). This center not only possesses the first domestic heavy-ion system in China but is also equipped with high-end devices such as the VitalBeam linear accelerator, Infinity four-dimensional image-guided medical linear accelerator, and 3.0T supersonic high-end radiotherapy positioning MRI.

Established the nation's first hospital to meet "Dual Carbon" standards. The entire hospital implements solar thermal collector systems, making full use of solar energy resources; vigorously promotes air-source heat pump technology across multiple campuses, providing heating in winter and cooling in summer without municipal or self-prepared heat sources; all hospital buildings adopt slab-type designs, north-south oriented for natural ventilation and lighting; the entire hospital promotes reclaimed water reuse systems, treating domestic sewage into harmless reclaimed water for landscaping, with the heavy-ion campus achieving zero wastewater discharge; the hospital plants as many trees annually as the number of inpatients, using garden-style extensive greening to offset the carbon emissions generated during patient hospitalization.

Rehabilitation Department and Heavy-Ion Inpatient Ward Building

The hospital constructed the Rehabilitation Department and Heavy-Ion Inpatient Ward Building. This building focuses on "green environmental protection," employing a slab-type design that is north-south oriented for good ventilation. Every detail was meticulously crafted from construction to operation, embedding the concept of "comprehensive health, comprehensive rehabilitation," ensuring practicality, comfort, and convenience in providing patients with all-around, one-stop rehabilitation diagnosis and treatment, greatly improving the hospital's medical environment and service capacity.

Health Management Center Gymnasium

Constructed the Health Management Center Gymnasium. This gymnasium provides a venue for sports activities, large-scale sports competitions, and important events for the citizens of Wuwei. It contributes to enhancing public awareness of physical fitness, improving the physical health of the masses, and promoting the construction of a healthy Wuwei.

Smart Cloud Hospital

The hospital is recognized by the National Health Commission as one of the first three hospitals in the province to achieve Level Four Standardized Maturity for Information Interconnection and Interoperability, making it a "Smart Cloud Hospital." It is also the first hospital in Northwest China to fully migrate to the cloud. The hospital has eliminated network server rooms, phased out computer hosts at various posts, and realized paperless management through electronic medical records, electronic cloud imaging, electronic invoices, etc., thereby reducing energy consumption and improving efficiency.

Large Garden-Style Heavy-Ion Campus Covering Nearly 3000 Acres

Promoted by high-quality development, the first domestic heavy-ion system at the hospital has been operating well. 510 patients have successfully received treatment here, covering more than 40 types of diseases including glioblastoma, malignant melanoma, liver cancer, lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer. Patients treated come from all provinces and cities across the country, such as Beijing, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Guangdong, Chongqing (except Macau).
