【Good News】 Warm congratulations to our hospital for winning the third prize in the municipal group team category of the provincial healthcare-associated infection prevention and control knowledge and skills competition

To further strengthen healthcare workers' awareness of healthcare-associated infection prevention and control and promote the in-depth development of the initiative "Everyone is a Practitioner, Everyone is a Supervisor of Infection Prevention and Control," the "Gansu Provincial Healthcare-Associated Infection Prevention and Control Knowledge and Skills Competition," organized by the Gansu Provincial Health Commission and the Gansu Provincial Trade Union Council, and hosted by the Gansu Provincial Second People's Hospital and the Gansu Provincial Healthcare-Associated Infection Management Professional Medical Quality Control Center, was successfully held at the Gansu Provincial Second People's Hospital on September.

The competition featured 59 teams and 177 participants from medical institutions across the province, divided into four competition groups: provincial, municipal, county, and grassroots levels. Representing the municipal group of Wuwei City were three colleagues from our hospital: Sun Xiaomei, Deputy Director of the Infection Management Department; Meng Fei, Teaching Head Nurse of the Nursing Department; and Han Shirong, Head Nurse of the Thoracic Surgery Department.

The competition consisted of three segments: a theoretical exam, a skills assessment, and a knowledge contest.

Throughout the competition, our team members demonstrated high spirits, calmness, and composure. With their solid theoretical knowledge and exceptional professional skills, they advanced through multiple rounds and ultimately achieved the excellent result of third prize in the municipal group team category, fully showcasing the talent and spirit of our hospital's medical staff.

Using the competition to promote learning and practice, participating in this provincial healthcare-associated infection prevention and control knowledge competition not only tested the effectiveness of our hospital's training in infection prevention and control knowledge and skills but also inspired all staff to continue advocating and implementing the concept of "Everyone is a Practitioner, Everyone is a Supervisor of Infection Prevention and Control." This has laid a solid foundation for further enhancing our hospital's capabilities and standards in infection prevention and control, thereby ensuring medical safety.
