Wuwei Heavy Ion Center Becomes a New Window for External Exchange in Our City
—A Large Number of Delegations from Across the Country Visit Wuwei Heavy Ion Center for Inspection
"This is my first time visiting the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center in person, and I must say it is truly astounding. The scale, management, and technical level far exceed my expectations," expressed Zhang Tao, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
On April 11, a delegation of nine individuals led by Zhang Tao, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center for an inspection tour. Vice President Zhang Tao fully affirmed the work of the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center in recent years and provided guiding opinions for its future development.
At the beginning of the new year, over 60 delegations from across the country visited the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center for inspections. These included groups from the Xinjiang Wuwei Chamber of Commerce, the Science Communication Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China National Nuclear Corporation, CGN Nuclear Technology Development Co., Ltd., the China Rural Development Association, the Northwest Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision Station of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Huangdao District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference from Qingdao, the People's Government of Huancui District in Weihai, and the Shandong Provincial Cancer Hospital.

On March 26, 2025, more than 500 experts from across the nation, including Hou Yan, Chairman of the China Medical Equipment Association; Shen Wenjiang, Lifetime Honorary Professor of Peking University Health Science Center; Wang Junjie, Director of the Radiotherapy Oncology Committee of the Chinese Medical Association; Qiu Jie, Secretary-General of the Radiotherapy Equipment and Technology Branch of the China Medical Equipment Association; and Professor Chen Ming from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center, gathered at the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center to hold an academic conference and conduct inspections and guidance.

Since the opening of the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center in March 2020, it has attracted a large number of political and business delegations from across the country for study and inspection. To date, nearly over 1,000 Party committees, government agencies, enterprises, institutions, and social organizations have conducted in-depth inspections at the center. While visiting, guests from all over the country have brought new information and business opportunities to Wuwei, boosting the city's economic development. The Wuwei Heavy Ion Center has become a new engine for Wuwei's high-quality economic growth, a window connecting medical centers across the nation, and a bridge for organizations and individuals from all over the country to approach, understand, and engage with Wuwei.
After years of development, the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center has established the nation's first tumor rehabilitation town, forming a comprehensive, full-life-cycle health management system characterized by integrated tumor treatment, dietary management therapy, mental and physical health management, traditional Chinese medicine dialectical treatment, rehabilitation physiotherapy, biological immune cell therapy, pastoral therapy, and cultural therapy. As of now, the center has successfully treated over 700 patients, achieving remarkable results for challenging conditions in areas such as the head, pancreas, and lungs. In the future, the hospital will seize the opportunity for high-quality development, integrating advanced medical technology with health rehabilitation, tourism, and culture to create a globally leading demonstration base for tumor treatment, continuing to contribute to human health.
