Wuwei Emergency Forum Opens, Jointly Depicting the "Golden Treatment Circle"
— "Wuwei Regional Emergency and Acute Care Academic Forum" Held at Our Hospital's Heavy Ion Campus
On September 19-20, the "Wuwei Regional Emergency and Acute Care Academic Forum," hosted by Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital, was successfully held at the Wuwei Heavy Ion Campus. Prominent domestic emergency experts, including Professor Yang Lishan from the Emergency Department of Ningxia Medical University General Hospital, Professor Chu Pei from the Emergency Department of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, Professor Zhang Ke from the Emergency Department of Gansu Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Yong Wenxing from the Affiliated Hospital of Gansu University of Chinese Medicine, and Professor Gu Hua from the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Gansu University of Chinese Medicine, gathered in Liangzhou along with over 200 emergency colleagues from hospitals and township health centers in Wuwei and surrounding areas. They discussed cutting-edge disciplines and jointly planned the high-quality development of regional emergency and acute care.

The forum was chaired by Zhang Zhenshuai, Assistant President and Director of the Emergency Department of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital. Professor Chu Pei, representing the Gansu Provincial Medical Association Emergency Medicine Branch, delivered a speech, and Zhang Weihong, Party Secretary of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital, gave a speech. They expressed hope that this forum would serve as an opportunity to bring provincial-level high-quality resources to the grassroots level and promote a "curve overtaking" in the emergency and acute care capabilities of the Wuwei region.

The two-day forum closely followed the theme of "cutting-edge + practical combat." Respiratory engine engineers Yang Dongsen and Ren Cunyi conducted live "explanation + hands-on" demonstrations on the theoretical basis of mechanical ventilation, the selection of non-invasive/invasive modes, and the operation of high-flow oxygen therapy. They provided hands-on guidance to solve the problems of grassroots medical staff who "don’t know how to use it and don’t dare to use it."

In the academic session, six experts took the stage one after another, delivering six "substantive" reports. Professor Yang Lishan, Director of the Emergency Department of Ningxia Medical University General Hospital, Professor Chu Pei from the Emergency Department of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, Professor Zhang Ke, Director of the Emergency Department of Gansu Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Yong Wenxing, Vice President of the West Campus of the Affiliated Hospital of Gansu University of Chinese Medicine, Professor Gu Hua, Director of the Emergency Department of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Gansu University of Chinese Medicine (Lanzhou Petrochemical General Hospital), and Zhang Zhenshuai, Director of the Emergency Department of our hospital, provided detailed interpretations on the topics of "Diagnosis and Treatment Thinking and Practice of Acute Poisoning," "Treatment of Severe Anaphylaxis," "Innovative Coagulopathy," "Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Emergency," "Acute Anti-infection: Correct and Accurate Thinking," and "Race Against Time—The Lifeline of Stroke." The reports covered five major emergency areas: poisoning, allergies, bleeding, infections, and stroke, conveying the latest guidelines while sharing years of clinical experience. The venue was filled with lively interactions and constant applause.

Before the official opening of the forum, our hospital’s emergency department team amazed the audience with a hand dance performance titled "Emergency Pioneers, Guardians of Life"—donning white coats as armor and using hand gestures as brushes, they interpreted speed and warmth with a "silent speech," instantly igniting the atmosphere and capturing the confidence and highlights of "Wuwei emergency personnel."

The successful hosting of this academic conference has established a high-level exchange platform for emergency medicine practitioners in the Wuwei region, marking a new stage of innovative development and quality improvement for the regional emergency and acute care collaboration network. It is bound to promote the city’s emergency medical cause to a new level. In the future, the hospital will continue to leverage the advanced heavy ion treatment technology, increase investment in the construction of emergency and acute care platforms, and create an integrated Wuwei model of "regional emergency care—transport—high-precision treatment," providing the public with a faster, more efficient, and more precise life channel.
