Focusing on Primary-Level Liver Disease Diagnosis and Treatment, Jointly Building a Healthy China—Hepatobiliary Disease Academic Conference Concludes Successfully

On September 13, 2025, the "Healthy China · Primary-Level Liver Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Capacity Enhancement Project" Promotion Conference, along with the "Gansu Province Liver Disease and Infectious Disease Academic Exchange Conference" and the "Wuwei Tianma Hepatobiliary Disease Frontier Symposium," was grandly held at Wuwei Tumor Hospital in Gansu Province. The event was jointly organized by the Beijing Chen Jumei Public Welfare Foundation and the Gansu Health Management Research Association. Wang Min, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Beijing Chen Jumei Public Welfare Foundation, as well as renowned hepatobiliary disease experts from Beijing, Guangzhou, Shaanxi, Qinghai, and within Gansu Province, delivered specialized academic lectures. The training attracted over 300 medical professionals from Wuwei City and surrounding county hospitals.

The conference was presided over by Executive Chairman Liang Chunhui, Director of the Second Department of Liver Diseases at Wuwei Tumor Hospital.

Zhang Wenhua, Honorary President, Chief Expert, and Director of the Hepatobiliary Center of Wuwei Tumor Hospital, delivered the opening speech as the Conference Chairman.

The Hepatobiliary Center of Wuwei Tumor Hospital is currently a National Demonstration Base for Hepatobiliary Disease Prevention and Treatment Technology. It comprehensively carries out clinical and research work in the field of hepatobiliary diseases, including liver protection, antiviral treatment, artificial liver support, surgical procedures, interventional therapy, minimally invasive techniques, iodine seed implantation, targeted immunotherapy, cellular immunotherapy, and stem cell transplantation. It is one of the few single-disease centers in China capable of perfectly implementing comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and full-cycle management of hepatobiliary diseases. The center undertakes multiple real-world research projects and several national public welfare programs, establishing a platform for consultations with renowned domestic and international experts on difficult and severe liver diseases. It has also established Gansu Province’s first co-management center for diabetic liver disease, benefiting more patients with hepatobiliary diseases, especially those with difficult and severe conditions, as well as patients with liver-related metabolic diseases such as diabetes and fatty liver.
