On August 29, Professor Zhao Ren, Director of the Radiation Oncology Department at Ningxia Medical University General Hospital, and Professor Fan Ruitai from the Radiation Oncology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University visited the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center and conducted a series of important academic exchange activities. These included professional rounds in various radiation oncology departments, participation in complex case discussions, and providing cutting-edge technical guidance.

As a senior expert in the field of radiation oncology, Professor Zhao Ren serves as Chief Physician, Standing Committee Member of the Chinese Medical Association Radiation Oncology Therapy Committee, Member of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association Lung Cancer Professional Committee, Member of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association Targeted Therapy Professional Committee, Member of the Esophageal Cancer Group of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association Nutrition and Supportive Therapy Committee, Director of the Ningxia Anti-Cancer Association Lung Cancer Professional Committee, Director of the Ningxia Clinical Medical Research Center for Malignant Tumors, and Deputy Director of the Ningxia Anti-Cancer Association Esophageal Cancer Professional Committee. He specializes in the comprehensive clinical and scientific research of combined radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy for thoracic tumors (such as lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and mediastinal tumors).
Professor Fan Ruitai joined our hospital on June 3 and now works here on a long-term basis. As a senior expert in the field of radiation oncology, he holds the titles of Second-Level Professor, Chief Physician, and Doctoral and Postdoctoral Supervisor. He has long served as the Academic Leader of the Key Clinical Specialty in Oncology of the National Health Commission and the Academic Leader of the Key Discipline of Oncology in Henan Province. He also holds positions such as Standing Committee Member of the Chinese Medical Association Radiation Oncology Therapy Committee and Director of the Henan Medical Association Radiation Oncology Therapy Committee. For decades, he has focused on precision radiation therapy for malignant tumors, accumulating numerous successful cases in technological innovation and clinical research. He has developed unique diagnostic and treatment concepts and rich practical experience, earning a high reputation among peers both domestically and internationally. He has made outstanding contributions to advancing the development of radiation oncology in the region and across the country.

In recent years, Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital has achieved significant results in promoting the Heavy Ion Therapy Alliance and the establishment of 50 expert workstations. As the only hospital in the world operating two heavy ion treatment systems simultaneously, Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital is committed to the continuous development and innovation of tumor treatment technologies. Patients come from various regions, including all provinces and cities in mainland China, as well as Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, and even from countries such as Australia, Belgium, South Korea, and Malaysia.

During the rounds, Professor Zhao Ren and Professor Fan Ruitai visited the wards to carefully review each patient's condition and treatment progress. They engaged in in-depth discussions with doctors from various radiation oncology departments. Based on individual patient circumstances, they provided precise and personalized treatment recommendations. They emphasized that tumor treatment is a comprehensive and complex process, requiring a holistic consideration of the patient's physical condition, tumor type, stage, and other factors to develop the most suitable treatment plan for each patient.
