Precision Intelligent Diagnosis and Treatment Enters a New Era

—The Inauguration Ceremony of the Neurosurgical Robotic Navigation System Application and Promotion Project Was Successfully Held at Our Hospital

In the fruitful August of 2025, a season of hope and harvest, the inauguration ceremony for the "Neurosurgical Robotic Navigation System Application and Promotion Project," jointly approved and established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Health Commission, was successfully held on August 29, 2025, at the Heavy Ion Campus of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital. The ceremony specially invited Professor Liu Hai from Beijing Tiantan Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University and Vice President Nie Peng of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital, along with other leading experts. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Dr. Cheng Ping, attending physician from the Neural Medicine Center of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital. Directors and head nurses from relevant clinical departments also attended.

In recent years, with the advancement of precision neurosurgery, minimally invasive surgery has become a core approach for diagnosing and treating deep-seated brain lesions. However, challenges such as insufficient millimeter-level operational accuracy during surgery, difficulties in protecting functional areas, and the risk of accidental vascular injury remain critical bottlenecks affecting surgical safety.

The neurosurgical robotic system, through submillimeter tremor filtration and multimodal real-time navigation technology, has innovatively enabled precise and safe interventions for brainstem and deep-seated tumors. This system comprehensively covers complex procedures such as deep brain electrode implantation and precise localization for functional area tumor resection, significantly improving the total resection rate of lesions, preserving neurological function integrity, and reducing postoperative complications.

Our hospital will seize this historic opportunity, dedicating full efforts to the construction, application, and promotion of the project, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of neurosurgery.

Introduction to the Neuroscience Medicine Center of Wuwei Medical Science Academy

The Neuroscience Medicine Center was established by integrating disciplinary resources such as neurosurgery and neurology from our hospital. It is a key discipline combining clinical medicine, teaching, scientific research, and talent cultivation, covering multiple fields including neurosurgery, neurology, neuro-critical care, neurorehabilitation, and neurointervention. Patients can receive "one-stop" comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services at the center, ranging from disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation to psychological care, health education, and long-term follow-up. The center routinely provides diagnosis and treatment for common neurosurgical diseases such as brain tumors, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebrovascular malformations, cerebral aneurysms, and brain trauma. It also performs procedures like stroke thrombolysis (both arterial and venous), cerebral angiography (via radial or femoral approach), arterial thrombectomy, carotid artery stenting, vertebral artery stenting, and cerebral aneurysm interventional embolization. The department has a rational staff structure, strong technical capabilities, and extensive medical experience. It currently includes one permanent neurosurgery expert from the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, two senior title holders, two intermediate title holders, and two junior title holders, three of whom are master's degree graduates. Adhering to the development philosophy of "combining humanistic medicine with neuroscience," we aim to build a patient-centered medical center that emphasizes human care and puts patients first. We consistently uphold our hospital's management philosophy of "excellent medical skills, noble medical ethics, meticulous service, and a deeply ingrained brand," continuously innovating and advancing forward.
