The Communist Party of China, a century-old party in its prime, stands as vigorous as ever; the medical professionals' original aspiration remains steadfast through the test of time. On the occasion of the 104th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, our hospital's Party Committee has remained unwavering in its founding mission—"to empathize with patients and spare no effort to reduce medical costs." With the "red engine" igniting ideological sparks, tempering vanguard forces, and fortifying a defense against corruption, we have deeply integrated Party building into every aspect of medical services, presenting our earnest tribute to the Party with concrete actions and solid achievements.

Party Lectures Lead, Steering Development's Course

At the special "July 1st" Party lecture, Comrade Zhang Weihong, Secretary of the Party Committee, delivered a thought-provoking session titled "Persistently Implementing the Spirit of the Central Eight-Point Regulation and Advancing Hospital High-Quality Development through New Achievements in Work Style Construction." The lecture closely followed the core principles of the Central Eight-Point Regulation, aligning with the hospital's realities. It covered topics ranging from standardizing clinical procedures and refining service details to preventing integrity risks and improving administrative efficiency. By using "real-life examples from within the hospital" to illustrate "broader principles," Secretary Zhang guided Party members and cadres to internalize work style requirements into conscious actions, laying a solid ideological foundation for the hospital's high-quality development.

Every word of the Party admission oath carried immense weight, embodying their loyal commitment to the Party. Veteran Party members renewed their oaths, their resolute gazes reflecting unwavering dedication to their original mission and its continuation. Xiao Zheng, a representative of the new Party members, said excitedly, "​​Taking the oath on the Party’s birthday is of profound significance. I will hold myself to the highest standards of a Party member and fulfill the original aspiration of a medical professional on the front lines of clinical care.​​" Nurse Li, a veteran Party member, remarked with deep emotion, "​​Every time we renew our oath, it is a moment of reflection on our original aspiration. As an experienced Party member, I must play my part in guiding and supporting the younger generation, working together to safeguard people’s health.​​"

With Integrity as Our Shield, We Strengthen Anti-Corruption Defenses

The Party Committee has established a robust ​​anti-corruption defense​​ by promoting ​​"integrity culture in every department."​​ It formulated the Work Plan for Integrity Warning Education, implementing a ​​quarterly thematic integrity campaign​​—including the "Promoting Clean Governance ∙ Celebrating Integrity" calligraphy and painting exhibition, as well as the "Upholding Integrity ∙ Walking the Clean Path" speech competition—to integrate ​​clean governance principles​​ into departmental culture and foster a ​​honest and ethical medical environment​​. Additionally, the Committee organized a ​​"Case-Based Discipline Education"​​ seminar, transforming ​​real-world medical sector cases​​ into ​​vivid teaching materials​​. Through these sessions, Party members and cadres are prompted to ​​"feel the heat and break into a sweat,"​​ deepening their ​​sense of awe and vigilance​​—further solidifying their ​​ideological defenses against corruption​​.

The hospital Party Committee has consistently adhered to the principle of Party building leading institutional development, giving full play to its core leadership role in setting the direction, overseeing the overall situation, making decisions, advancing reforms, and ensuring implementation. By maintaining a "strict" tone, "pragmatic" work style, and "detailed" measures, the Committee has established a three-dimensional learning mechanism featuring Party Committee-led study sessions, branch-facilitated learning, and individual self-study, continuously strengthening the ideological foundation of political theory. The Committee has cultivated one municipal-level standardized advanced Party branch and innovatively developed four distinctive Party-building brands, including "Mirror-Like Precision in Gastrointestinal Care" and "Party Leadership, Craftsmanship in Service, Pursuing Truth Through Testing," ensuring that Party building initiatives achieve both strategic significance and practical warmth.

Leading by Example to Nurture the Next Generation of Talent

The hospital has implemented the "Dual-Leader" training program for Party branch secretaries, deeply integrating Party building with talent cultivation. From among mid-level and senior technical professionals and department heads, 15 individuals were developed as Party membership aspirants, with 6 subsequently becoming full members. The grassroots Party leadership team now comprises 9 members with postgraduate degrees and 15 holding deputy senior or higher professional titles, while 91% of department heads concurrently serve as Party branch secretaries. This has gradually fostered a development pattern where "leading geese guide the flock and the entire flock flies together," steadily building a high-quality talent pool to support the hospital's high-quality growth.

Boosting Healthcare Excellence Through Talent Development

The hospital Party Committee regards talent as the "primary resource" for development, having introduced over 100 high-level professionals and flexibly recruited 50 nationally renowned experts—including Shen Wenjiang, Wang Junjie, Fan Ruitai, Xu Bo, Zhang Yingdong, Ma Changying, Liao Anyan, and Yin Chaocheng—to establish workstations. Leveraging the Wuwei and Lanzhou Heavy Ion Centers, the hospital has successfully treated more than 2,000 cancer patients, while establishing multiple research and education platforms, including a Heavy Ion New R&D Institution, Gansu Provincial Heavy Ion Therapy Industry Technology Center, and Gansu Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base. These efforts have brought cutting-edge medical technologies to more patients, with the Party flag flying high on the frontlines of scientific innovation.

The Party Committee has leveraged Party building to drive business development by establishing 12 Party member task forces, designating 48 Party responsibility zones, and setting up 103 pioneer demonstration posts, motivating Party members and cadres to shoulder key responsibilities in medical services and scientific research. Significant achievements have been made in discipline construction, with 5 provincial-level key disciplines and 14 municipal-level key disciplines established. The hospital has won five major honors, including the National Championship in the Endoscopy & Pathology Competition, the First Prize in the Hospital IoT Application Innovation Contest (Medical Services Category), and the Team Championship in Gansu Province's First CT Skills Competition for the Imaging Department. These accomplishments have achieved a "dual enhancement" of Party building and core business, propelling the hospital's high-quality development with steady and sustained progress.
