"Mother's River·Cancer Prevention Initiative" Northwest Academic Symposium Successfully Concludes at Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital

On September 14, the Northwest Regional Academic Exchange Conference of the "Mother River · Cancer Prevention and Treatment Project" was grandly held at the Heavy Ion Center of Wuwei Cancer Hospital, Gansu Province.​​ This highly anticipated academic event attracted numerous renowned domestic radiation oncology experts and public welfare advocates.

The conference was graced by the participation of distinguished experts including:

The "Mother River · Cancer Prevention and Treatment Public Welfare Project," spearheaded by Professor Wang Junjie, draws inspiration from the moving ballad Father's Prairie and Mother's River.​​ Leveraging the comprehensive medical, educational, and research systems of renowned tertiary hospitals, the project integrates high-quality resources across sectors.

Its core mission is to provide grassroots medical institutions with multidimensional support, including technical guidance, professional training, and expert consultations, to comprehensively enhance their capabilities in tumor radiotherapy.

Simultaneously, the project aligns closely with the national "Two Cancers" screening initiative, offering assistance to eligible breast and cervical cancer patients. By doing so, it effectively reduces poverty caused by illness and relapse, bringing hope and warmth to patients and their families.

Professor Wang Juan from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University delivered a special lecture on "Research Progress of Nimotuzumab in Cervical Cancer."​​

​​The Gynecological Tumor Heavy Ion Therapy Department at Wuwei Cancer Hospital, Gansu Province has accumulated extensive experience in treating breast cancer, cervical cancer, and ovarian cancer through medical electron linear accelerator radiotherapy, brachytherapy, and heavy ion therapy.​​

The department has appointed several distinguished visiting professors, including Professor Liu Zi from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University and Professor Li Sha from the 940th Hospital of the Joint Logistics Support Force. Under the long-term expert guidance of Professor Ren Yimin and Professor Wu Jiaming from Taiwan, China, the department conducts clinical practice and research-teaching activities.

Specializing in advanced radiotherapy techniques such as heavy ion therapy and stereotactic radiotherapy, the department boasts a robust professional technical team. Renowned for its exceptional treatment outcomes, rigorous medical quality standards, and exemplary professional ethics, the department has earned high praise from patients.
