First Announcement: Academic Symposium on Cutting-edge Particle Therapy Technologies for Tumors - Celebrating the 5th Anniversary of Wuwei Heavy Ion Medical Center

On this significant occasion marking the fifth anniversary of clinical application at Wuwei Heavy Ion Center—China's first heavy-ion therapy treatment center—we extend our sincere greetings and invitation to you! Since its official launch in March 2020, the center has provided precise medical treatment for over 2,000 cancer patients, treating over 50 cancer types, including lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, and glioblastoma. With outstanding clinical achievements and groundbreaking technological advancements, it has become a benchmark in the field of heavy ion therapy. Five years of dedication have yielded remarkable achievements: The center has pioneered groundbreaking global innovations, includingbreath-controlled carbon-ion radiotherapy using advanced ventilation technology and precision bladder volume control technology for bladder cancer treatment, opening new frontiers in oncology. To comprehensively review the clinical experience and research accomplishments of the past five years, foster international academic collaboration, and advance technological innovation in particle therapy for tumors, we are pleased to announce the "Academic Symposium on Cutting-Edge Particle Therapy Technologies – Celebrating the 5th Anniversary of Wuwei Heavy Ion Center" to be held on June 28, 2025. This grand event will bring together world-leading academic expertise: We welcome distinguished experts from top global particle therapy institutions, alongside eminent Chinese academic leaders including Academician Wenlong Zhan, Academician Jiawen Xia, Academician Hongwei Zhao, and Academician Jun Ma. International luminaries such as Dr. Hirohiko Tsujii (Former President of Japan’s National Institute of Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology, QST) will also deliver keynote speeches. The expert team from Wuwei Cancer Hospital’s Heavy Ion Center will provide in-depth insights into the latest advances in clinical practice, physics technology, and R&D innovation in particle therapy. Together, we will explore cutting-edge industry trends and future directions to advance the future of cancer therapy.
