PET-CT: The Outstanding Tumor Diagnosis
PET-CT: The Outstanding Tumor Diagnosis
Is there a test that can predict early, locate precisely, comprehensively evaluate tumor diseases, and remain safe and non-invasive?

PET-CT, a medical imaging diagnostic device, combines the functions of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and X-ray Computed Tomography (CT), enabling doctors to better assess a patient's condition. It serves as an exceptional arbiter for tumors.

Typical case (one)
A 57-year-old male, experiencing upper abdominal discomfort for over a month.

PET-CT diagnosis: Pancreatic head carcinoma with multiple liver metastases, T2N0M1 Stage IV.
Typical case (two)
Male, 58 years old.
Medical history: Small cell lung cancer, 8 cycles of chemotherapy, followed by generalized pain and discomfort for 1 month.

Small cell lung cancer post-chemotherapy, now with multiple metastatic lymph nodes in bilateral infraclavicular regions and right upper mediastinum (pretracheal retrovascular space), accompanied by widespread skeletal metastases.

The PET-CT Center at Gansu Wuwei Academy of Medical and Science Cancer Hospital has introduced the US GE Discovery 710 ultra-iterative PET-CT, the most advanced 256-ring LBS crystal PET/128-slice spiral CT in China. This equipment is the fourth PET-CT in Gansu Province and the only one in prefecture-level hospitals across the province. As a cutting-edge ultra-iterative device launched by GE that leads global trends, it offers higher sensitivity and specificity than conventional PET/CT. Its achieves a spatial resolution of 1.8 mm significantly improves detection capability for minute lesions while substantially reducing total body scan time and radiation exposure, delivering ideal diagnostic results. It is hailed as the crown jewel of modern medical high technology. The center boasts a first-class radiopharmacy lab with a medical cyclotron for producing radiotracers (including ¹¹C-, ¹³N-, and ¹⁸F-labeled compounds)required for diagnosing different diseases. The produced radiopharmaceuticals exceed national purity standards and meet world-class levels, ensuring precise diagnoses for patients. Our PET-CT center has become Gansu Province's only facility simultaneously performing both 11C and 18F imaging.
