Vitality in Golden Autumn, Forging Ahead with Medical Dedication — 2026 Municipal Health System National Day Staff Sports Meet Successfully Held at Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital
In the golden autumn season of abundant harvest, dreams are pursued on the field as we welcome the nation's birthday. On September 30, the 2026 Municipal Health System "Loyal to the Party in Medical Service, Celebrating Autumn with Vitality" National Day Staff Sports Meet was successfully held at the Heavy Ion Campus of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital. The event was organized by the Municipal Health Commission and the Municipal Trade Union, and hosted by Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital. Cadres and staff from municipal medical and health institutions across the city gathered at the venue to compete together, demonstrating the health system's commitment through vigorous cultural and sportsmanship and celebrating the National Day holiday

At the closing ceremony, Ren Baolong, Chair of our hospital's Trade Union and General Director of the event's organizing committee, read out all competition results and the list of award winners. The award ceremony followed, with leaders from the Municipal Trade Union, the Municipal Health Commission, and various municipal medical institutions presenting awards to the champions, runners‑up, and third‑place winners of each event, as well as to the units and individuals receiving the Outstanding Organization Award. The venue resounded with applause in a solemn and lively atmosphere.
The sports meet closely followed the theme of "Strengthening Physique, Building Cohesion, Showcasing Talent, Promoting Progress," scientifically establishing six competitive categories: basketball, light volleyball, table tennis, badminton, Chinese chess, and checkers. Covering team competition, individual events, and intellectual strategy games, the program balanced activity and stillness with broad coverage, combining professionalism, competitiveness, and mass appeal. It provided an excellent platform for the health system's cadres and staff to exchange skills, learn from one another, build cohesion, and relax — fully demonstrating the proactive, united, and civilized spirit of the new era's health workforce.

On the field, passion and vitality blended, and striving and collaboration resonated. All participating teams competed with determination, giving their all and demonstrating skill, style, and drive. The basketball courts featured swift offense and defense with seamless coordination — every pass, drive, and jump shot showcasing team synergy. The light volleyball matches were steady in offense and defense with spectacular spikes and blocks, as players calmly competed with determination. The table tennis and badminton venues were agile and swift, with matches decided in moments — precise placements and rapid rallies demonstrating solid fundamentals. The board game area was quiet and focused, with players strategizing and making moves calmly — competing in wisdom and composure within the square board. All participants strictly abided by the competition rules, upholding the sportsmanship of "friendship first, competition second," fully demonstrating the health system's dedication, professionalism, and enterprising work ethic.

After days of intense multi‑round competition, all results were announced. The delegation from Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital, with outstanding strength, seamless teamwork, and tenacious perseverance, won multiple major awards. In the team events, our hospital achieved remarkable results: First Place in Basketball Team, First Place in Men's Light Volleyball Team, First Place in Women's Light Volleyball Team, First Place in Women's Table Tennis Team, Third Place in Men's Table Tennis Team, and Second Place in Badminton Team — with multiple victories across ball sports team events.
In individual competitions, our contestants demonstrated courage and determination, earning top‑three finishes and honors in multiple events including table tennis doubles and singles, and badminton singles — interpreting the spirit of relentless progress through outstanding competitive strength.

The successful holding of this large‑scale staff sports meet served as both a comprehensive review of the spiritual civilization achievements of the city's health system and a practical test of our hospital's comprehensive carrying capacity, ability to organize large‑scale events, and refined service level. As the host institution, the hospital made meticulous arrangements and coordinated comprehensively. Leveraging the Wuwei Heavy Ion Wellness Town's complete venue resources, comprehensive hardware facilities, and mature logistics support system, the hospital completed event organization, venue operations, security, and service reception to high standards and quality, fully ensuring the smooth and orderly conduct of the competition. The professional and efficient event organization capabilities received high recognition and unanimous praise from the organizing units and all participating teams.

For a long time, Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital has placed great emphasis on spiritual civilization development and employee cultural development, routinely carrying out diverse cultural and sports activities to continuously refine work style and build development cohesion. This sports meet not only fully demonstrated the spirited, united, and enterprising spirit of our hospital's staff but also further boosted the morale of the entire hospital. All cadres and staff will translate the sportsmanship of self‑transcendence, striving, and unity from the field into motivation for fulfilling responsibilities and taking practical action. Rooted in their positions and dedicated to the medical cause, they will drive the hospital's high‑quality development with greater enthusiasm, a more pragmatic work style, and a more vigorous attitude — safeguarding the health of the regional population and contributing solid strength to improving the quality and efficiency of the city's health initiatives.
