ERAS is an advanced, evidence-based approach that optimizes perioperative management and reduces surgical stress and complications through multidisciplinary collaboration among surgery, anesthesia, nursing, nutrition, and other disciplines, ultimately facilitating rapid patient recovery. The standard ward accreditation program is spearheaded by Professor Chen Xiaoping, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and has already attracted participation from over 700 hospitals nationwide. During the session, Secretary-General Luo delivered a systematic lecture on the core elements and implementation pathways for building ERAS standard wards. Her presentation was insightful and enriched with vivid clinical cases, offering authoritative theoretical guidance and actionable practical strategies for our hospital’s ERAS initiative.

Following the lecture, the expert panel conducted on-site teaching rounds in the wards. They provided detailed feedback and professional guidance on key areas including standardized preoperative education, precise minimally invasive surgical techniques, multimodal postoperative analgesia, early ambulation, optimized nutritional support, and fluid management. The experts highly commended the department’s existing efforts and offered constructive suggestions for further process optimization and standard elevation.

In the comprehensive management of ERAS, the nursing team serves as the primary executor and core driving force behind the implementation of this philosophy. Adhering to a "patient-centered" care philosophy, the nursing team of Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery II is deeply involved in the entire care continuum—from preoperative education and multimodal analgesia to early mobilization, nutritional support, fluid management, and discharge evaluation. With their professional expertise and compassionate care, they safeguard the safety and comfort of patients throughout the perioperative period. This expert visit not only served as a thorough review of the ERAS standard ward development but also represented a high recognition of the nursing team's pivotal role.

Driven by professional empowerment and innovation, the team is committed to embedding the ERAS philosophy throughout the entire patient journey—from pre-admission to post-discharge. By delivering high-quality, precise, and compassionate care, they strive to facilitate faster patient recovery and contribute to the standardized, high-quality development of ERAS in both the hospital and the broader Hexi region.
