Wuwei Pain Quality Control Conference & Cancer Pain Training Held at Our Hospital

To further advance the Healthy China strategy, enhance core pain diagnosis and treatment technologies and quality control standards, fully leverage the platform advantages of the Wuwei Pain Specialty Medical Quality Control Center, and comprehensively improve the standardized diagnosis and treatment and whole‑course management of cancer pain in the region, the 2026 Wuwei Pain Specialty Medical Quality Control Academic Conference and the 2nd Whole‑Course Integrated Cancer Pain Management Training Course, along with the Whole‑Course Pain Nursing Management Training Course, were successfully held on July 4 at Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Director Guo Yumei, with Vice President Nie Peng delivering the welcome address. He noted that pain management is a core component of whole‑life‑cycle cancer care and a fundamental pillar of medical quality and safety. As the host institution of the Wuwei Pain Specialty Medical Quality Control Center, the hospital remains committed to a patient‑centered approach, leveraging the platform advantages of national‑level technologies such as heavy ion therapy and CyberKnife, and integrating comprehensive pain management into the full‑service cancer care continuum. The hospital continues to drive standardization and homogenization of diagnosis and treatment, aiming to enhance the region's overall capability in cancer pain management. In his address, Conference Chairman Director Zhang Depeng emphasized that the pain diagnosis and treatment field still faces numerous challenges, and that academic exchange and experience sharing are essential to further standardize clinical practices and innovate management models. He called on pain specialists, oncologists, and nursing professionals across the city to take this conference as an opportunity to align with national standards for precision cancer pain management, and to provide more precise and compassionate pain solutions for patients.

The academic lecture session featured a distinguished lineup of speakers who delivered in‑depth presentations and case analyses on comprehensive cancer pain management, clinical practice challenges, and the latest disciplinary advances. Drawing on their respective areas of expertise and rich clinical experience, the speakers addressed core topics including refined pain management in pediatric advanced cancer, patient education throughout the care continuum, hospice care system development, standardized whole‑course clinical pain management, emerging technologies and new developments in cancer pain treatment, and hospice care practice. The presentations offered both cutting‑edge insights and practical relevance. The interactive session was lively and engaging, with participants focusing on key issues such as standardization of pain assessment, multidisciplinary collaboration models, rational use of analgesics, and practical challenges in whole‑course patient management. Robust exchanges of ideas and sharing of clinical experience enriched the discussions throughout the event.
