5th Gansu Venous Therapy Conference Held at Wuwei Cancer Hospital (Lanzhou Campus)
On the banks of the Yellow River, where the power of a great national instrument shines brightly, the 5th Gansu Annual Conference on Venous Therapy was grandly inaugurated on June 26 at the Lanzhou Campus of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital. Held at a crucial juncture — as the Healthy China strategy deepens and Gansu Province plans its healthcare development for the 15th Five‑Year Plan period — this conference brought together leading nursing professionals from across the province and top venous therapy experts from across the country. It served both as a comprehensive review of the province's progress in venous therapy specialty development and as an important step for our hospital in leveraging the advantages of heavy ion technology to lead high‑quality regional nursing development and build a new hub for venous therapy in Northwest China.
At the opening ceremony, Ye Yancheng, President of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital, systematically outlined the hospital's strategic vision of building a fully integrated, whole‑life‑cycle oncology care system, with heavy ion technology serving as the core engine. He noted that heavy ion equipment is not only a powerful tool for treating complex and refractory tumors but also serves as an "incubator" for cultivating specialty disciplines and fostering nursing innovation. Guided by clinical needs and aligned with international standards, the hospital has routinely advanced high‑end vascular access placement techniques and established a closed‑loop care management system, significantly reducing complications associated with venous therapy. Through these efforts, the hospital has developed a replicable model for heavy ion‑integrated venous therapy that can be rolled out across the entire province.
Han Lin, Chairperson of the Gansu Nursing Association, acknowledged the achievements made in venous therapy across the province. She emphasized that as Gansu enters the 15th Five‑Year Plan period, venous therapy nursing must not only uphold strong safety standards but also strive for greater refinement and specialization. She called on colleagues across the province to work together to build an integrated venous therapy service system, injecting momentum into improving the quality and efficiency of nursing care in Gansu.

These lectures not only strengthened participants' theoretical foundations but also opened channels for bringing nationally advanced experience to Gansu, significantly broadening attendees' professional perspectives.
