In the early summer season, the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center welcomed the assistance of NUS alumni from the National University of Singapore. On June 3rd, a group of alumni from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, the General Manager of Hefei High-Tech Venture Capital Limited, Mr. Shi Yong, and Dr. Lv Liru, a Patent Search and Analysis Examiner at the International Affairs Office of the Singapore Intellectual Property Office and lecturer at the School of Intellectual Property at a social sciences university, visited Wuwei to jointly outline a new blueprint for the future development of the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center.

During the in-depth inspection of the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center, General Manager Shi Yong and Dr. Lv Liru provided comprehensive guidance on core management issues such as strategic planning, brand management, risk control, public opinion management, policy formulation and evaluation, financial management, human resource management, hospital governance, environmental protection management, technological innovation, and hospital compliance with macro government measures at the Wuwei Medical Science Research Institute. General Manager Shi Yong emphasized that faced with new trends in economic development, hospitals must clarify their strategic positioning, strengthen public governance, control risks rigorously, implement scientific financial management and human resource management, as these will be crucial for the hospital's future development.

Dr. Lv Liru delivered a fascinating lecture on "Protection and Application of Intellectual Property Rights." She provided a detailed analysis of the concepts, classifications, and systems of intellectual property, the registration and value of trademarks, the classification, application requirements, examination standards, and value of patents, the global overview of relevant patents in heavy ion technology, methods for identifying intellectual property around us, operational management of intellectual property, ways to protect intellectual property rights and achieve commercial value, and emphasized the importance of building a sound intellectual property protection system. Addressing the needs of the Wuwei Medical Science Research Institute in intellectual property management, Dr. Lv offered specific recommendations, sparking lively discussions and positive feedback from the audience present.

The visit of NUS alumni to Northwest China not only brought valuable suggestions for the development of the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center but also built new bridges for the exchange and cooperation of high-tech medical technologies globally.
As the first clinical application base of heavy ion therapy system in China, the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center has successfully treated 1291 patients worldwide since its official clinical application on March 26, 2020. Patients who have completed treatment have shown significant efficacy and good tolerance. The treated diseases include more than 50 types such as lung cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, and brain glioma. The center has gathered top experts in heavy ion therapy from both domestic and international sources, ensuring high-quality medical services. The visit and exchange by General Manager Shi Yong and Dr. Lv Liru have injected new vitality into the high-quality development of Wuwei Heavy Ion Center and have also opened a new chapter in international cooperation for Wuwei Heavy Ion Therapy.
By implementing cutting-edge technologies such as the pause-and-play precision radiotherapy technique, as well as introducing new measures such as pastoral therapy, cultural therapy, and psychological healing, the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center aims to provide comprehensive and lifelong health management for cancer patients. Through these efforts, the center continuously strengthens the brand influence of Chinese heavy ion therapy, explores the unique advantages of integrating traditional Chinese medicine in cancer treatment, and promotes the "Chinese solution" of using heavy ion therapy combined with traditional Chinese medicine to benefit cancer patients worldwide.
