The routine participation of these esteemed TCM physicians is not merely a simple aggregation of resources. Together with the hospital’s existing national and provincial-level TCM inheritance systems, they form a powerful synergy. Under the framework of the "Professor Pei Zhengxue’s Clinical Experience Inheritance Base for Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine," mid-career and young backbone physicians, such as Li Yinghong and Chen Yuxia, have rapidly advanced, ensuring the systematic inheritance and innovative application of the masters’ academic expertise. The long-term contributions of Professor Cao Jingyu, a direct disciple of nationally renowned TCM physicians Professors Mi Denghai and Pei Zhengxue, as well as provincial-level renowned TCM physicians Wang Lanying and Zhao Mingfang, have collectively strengthened the hospital’s disciplinary foundation in TCM-based tumor treatment.

Today, at the Wuwei Heavy Ion Center of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital, patients not only have access to globally leading precision radiotherapy but also receive personalized TCM conditioning throughout their treatment journey. From pre-treatment TCM-based health adjustments and mitigating side effects while enhancing efficacy during treatment to post-recovery management for preventing recurrence and metastasis, the renowned TCM team and the heavy ion treatment team collaborate closely, achieving an integrative medical effect where "1+1>2." With the clinical deployment of China’s first domestically developed heavy ion treatment system in Wuwei, the hospital’s TCM department has pioneered a "TCM + heavy ion" whole-lifecycle tumor treatment model, creating a new paradigm of integrative medicine in oncology that has attracted patients from both China and abroad.

From the foundational work of senior physicians to the flourishing of renowned doctors’ workstations, and from the development of hospital-formulated preparations to the maturation of the global "TCM + heavy ion" treatment approach, Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital has consistently been at the forefront of blending tradition and innovation.
