On February 1, Professor Ma Lulin, a leading figure in the field of urology in China and former head of the Department of Urology at Peking University Third Hospital, officially began his regular in-hospital presence at the Lanzhou Heavy Ion Center of Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital. Operating under a model of "full-cycle consultation and precision diagnosis and treatment," Professor Ma will provide weekly scheduled consultations at the center. His expertise will inject core momentum into the high-quality development of the center’s radiation oncology discipline and drive a leap forward in clinical service standards. Professor Ma Lulin, a distinguished second-level professor, doctoral supervisor, and postdoctoral co-supervisor at Peking University, has dedicated nearly four decades to the field of urology. Currently serving as the Vice President of the Haidian Branch of Peking University Third Hospital, he is a leading authority in China in kidney transplantation and the diagnosis and treatment of complex urological tumors. His expertise in living donor kidney transplantation and simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplantation has reached internationally advanced levels. He has also achieved profound mastery in challenging surgical procedures such as robot-assisted/laparoscopic resection of large adrenal tumors, radical surgery for renal cell carcinoma with inferior vena cava tumor thrombus, nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy, and Studer orthotopic neobladder reconstruction. Over the years, he has alleviated the suffering of over ten thousand patients, earning an exceptional reputation within the industry.

To date, the center has completed photon and heavy ion treatments for over 400 patients, covering conditions such as lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, and glioblastoma.
