To thoroughly implement the hospital's development strategy for international diagnosis and treatment, fully advance the deployment of strengthening the hospital through talent development, address the pain points of young staff in the practical application of professional English, build an interdisciplinary collaborative communication platform, and foster a robust international learning atmosphere, the Communist Youth League Committee of Gansu Provincial Wuwei Cancer Hospital officially launched the brand activity of "Medi-English Hub" at the Library of the Heavy Ion Center on January 28, 2026. Young backbones and English enthusiasts from various departments gathered together, with language as a bridge, to embark on a professional and interactive journey of English communication and practice.

Ice-Breaking Games

In the Ice-breaking Interaction session, fun interactive games quickly broke down the barriers between strangers, allowing staff who had little communication with each other to build connections rapidly through cooperation and laughter, laying an open and harmonious foundation for in-depth exchanges later.

This Is Me

In the subsequent Theme Sharing session, young staff took English as a carrier and confidently demonstrated their professional accomplishments and diverse charisma by combining their sense of responsibility in clinical work, exploration experience in medical scientific research, and interest pursuits in daily life. They shared insights around practical scenarios such as patient consultation and academic exchanges, effectively putting the concept of conveying value through English and building consensus through communication into practice.

Sharing & Shining

As the highlight of the activity, the Expert Empowerment session specially invited Mr. Lu Rongqing, a senior teacher of Wuwei No.1 High School, to be present for on-site guidance. Combining the characteristics of the medical industry and the learning pain points of the staff with pinpoint accuracy, Mr. Lu provided scientific and practical guidance on learning paths focusing on the memorization of professional terminology and clinical communication skills. He effectively solved the staff's puzzles in medical English learning and won unanimous recognition and high praise from all participants.

The successful launch of this English corner is an important measure for the hospital to advance the internationalization of cultural development and build a high-quality, professional and international team of young medical talents. The activity has not only built a professional and regular capacity improvement platform for young staff, but also stimulated the internal motivation of all staff to take the initiative to learn and strive for excellence, injecting fresh vitality into the hospital's international exchanges and cooperation as well as its high-quality development.
