Radiation Oncology Center Ⅱ(International Medical Department Ⅱ) at Gansu Wuwei Cancer Center focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck, central nervous system, gynecological, and breast tumors, with an emphasis on precision radiotherapy and heavy ion radiotherapy research. It is a specialized clinical department integrating medical care, teaching, and scientific research. With a high starting point for development, the department has established a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment system supported by heavy ion therapy systems. It is a distinctive specialty in the region, recognized for its advanced tumor diagnosis and treatment technologies and high industry acclaim.

II. Talent Team

The department has a professional medical team of nearly 20 members, with a well-structured talent echelon including 2 deputy chief physicians, 4 mid-level physicians, and 2 staff members with master's degrees. The director, Hu Tingchao, and the deputy director, Yin Zhaosheng, have over twenty years of experience in tumor radiotherapy and possess profound expertise in head and neck tumors, neurological oncology, and heavy ion therapy. Deputy director Wang Xinlan specializes in precision radiotherapy for breast and gynecological tumors, demonstrating outstanding professional skills. The nursing team, having undergone standardized training, provides comprehensive, full-cycle professional care.

III. Diagnosis and Treatment Technologies and Equipment

The department's clinical practice covers head and neck tumors, central nervous system tumors, gynecological tumors, breast tumors, and lymphomas. It is equipped with world-leading heavy ion therapy systems and advanced linear accelerators. Centered on heavy ion radiotherapy, it precisely targets tumor cells while protecting normal tissues, addressing challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of complex and difficult tumors. The department routinely performs precision radiotherapy techniques such as VMAT and SRS/SBRT, developing individualized diagnosis and treatment plans for each patient.

IV. Teaching, Scientific Research and Humanistic Services

As a teaching practice base for the Lanzhou University School of Medicine, the department implements a "one-on-one mentor responsibility system" to cultivate professional talent. In research, it collaborates with national-level laboratories, achieving breakthroughs in the field of heavy ions and undertaking related clinical studies. The department adheres to a "patient-centered" approach, promoting multidisciplinary team (MDT) diagnosis and treatment, implementing whole-process management, and integrating humanistic care throughout the entire course of diagnosis and treatment.
