Department Overview

Establishment and Technological Arsenal

○ Founded in September 2020, the Department of Radiation Oncology IV is well-equipped with multiple high-end heavy-ion radiotherapy devices. This enables us to offer a comprehensive array of advanced treatment techniques, both domestic and international. These include heavy-ion radiotherapy, Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Intensity-Modulated Conformal Radiotherapy, Stereotactic Radiotherapy, and 3D Conformal Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy.

● Focus on Advanced Modalities

○ Our department is at the forefront of developing state-of-the-art radiotherapy techniques. These encompass Image-Guided Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy (IGRT), Volumetric-Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT/RapidArc), Four-Dimensional Dynamic Radiotherapy, Stereotactic Radiosurgery/Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SRS/SBRT), Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT), Total Body Irradiation, 3D Conformal Radiotherapy (3DCRT), Electron Beam Therapy, 3D Intracavitary Brachytherapy for Gynecology, Interstitial Brachytherapy and Surface Applicator Therapy, Breath-Holding Technique, Pre-operative Radiotherapy, Post-operative Radiotherapy, Radiotherapy for Benign Diseases, External High-Frequency Thermotherapy, and 2D Conformal Radiotherapy (2DCRT).

● Comprehensive Treatment Approach

○ We integrate these advanced technologies with other treatment modalities such as surgery, chemotherapy, thermotherapy, molecular targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and traditional Chinese medicine. By doing so, we implement the most effective and recognized comprehensive cancer treatment models. Over the years, our comprehensive treatment strategies have yielded remarkable results, winning wide acclaim from both society and patients.

● General and Specialized Focus

○ We offer radiotherapy for tumors across all parts of the body. In particular, we have established expertise in photon and carbon-ion treatment for two major types of malignancies: gynecological and breast cancers.

● Gynecological Cancer Treatments

○ For gynecological cancers, which include cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, vaginal cancer, vulvar cancer, and ovarian cancer, we provide a range of treatment options. These include radical radiotherapy, pre-operative neoadjuvant radiotherapy, post-operative adjuvant radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, endocrine therapy, and comprehensive treatment combining these methods.
